I'd say they are worth it for a couple different reasons, even though they do cost a fair bit (in Canada I pay around 70$/session). The big thing for me is I wanted to learn how to work out on my own, and how to use the different pieces of equipment in the gym. I now feel a lot more confident, and can work out on my own.…

Good luck! I did the same about a year ago, and started at 335, and am ending the year around 295. Not where i'd like to be at this point, but 40 pounds is 40 pounds closer to my end goal!

Thanks -- I've been doing a lot of weight lifting (bit the bullet and hired a personal trainer a few months ago). So i'm not losing as much weight as fast as I want, but I know its because I'm getting stronger and putting on muscle instead

My goal was to lose 50lbs this year -- I've done 36 so far, and have another 14 to go. It's a fair bit left in 5 weeks, but I'm going to get pretty close.
