I'm still getting attacks as I'm still learning what is right for me. Lastnight I thought I'd have a 'treat' of some milk choc pretzels and I paid the price with really bad pains and lesson learned there!! I still get really bad constipation even though I've started eating more fruit now, which stops me losing weight. If I…

Sometimes like yourself I am in such pain that I cannot sleep, I can't get comfortable, I take antacid tablets and epsom salts to ease it, and after maybe 3 -4 hours it finally calms down. I feel then that I 'pass out' with the pain rather than drift off into sleep. These type of pains though were always in the night time,…

Hi there Sorry you are suffering so much. I've just been reading up about SIBO and came across this article http://www.mindbodygreen.com/0-11020/10-signs-you-have-small-intestinal-bacterial-overgrowth-sibo.html It says that an antibiotic might help - so maybe worth a try? I'm really new to trying FODMAP (just finished my…

Great job on nearly halfway!! For me, losing 20lbs by September would put me at 15st 8lb - an achievement beyond my dreams!! Since being ill recently my weightloss has come to a complete standstill, which is frustrating to say the least! So if I can get back on track, then I would be proper chuffed :-)

Can we do it? Yes we can!!!

Thank you all very much for your advice, I've learned alot!! tennisdude200 thankyou for that link, I've printed it out and will discuss it with my doc when I next see him, it has given me some options. I always eat the skins on potatoes - they're the best bit!! :-) Atleast I've got some more choices now - thankyou!

Yeah I've read watermelon is good too, but it won't be available here for another couple of months or so. My UTI is the second I've had in 15months, but I don't know if that's a problem? My true concern is that I had pancreatitis 8 years ago and nearly died, and I'm frightened whenever anything isn't right. I don't know if…

Ok thank you! So basically I need to drink more water, I normally drink 2ltrs a day, and don't panic  The mayo clinic advice is similar to the NHS advice I've read which means avoiding, rhubarb, sweet potatoes, spinach etc, but that would be really sad as they are my favourites. I don't have a lot of salt anyway and…

that's fantastic!! you're doing great and the fact that you've not made many changes to your lifestyle means that when you do reach your goal - you won't go back, as you are adapting your eating habits now without missing out. keep up the great work!!

Thank you all very much :flowerforyou: It's clear that the best way to move forward is to log my current weight. I will do this tomorrow and do my damndest to get back to where I was. Yep I agree that by actually watching all this extra rubbish I've just added to my body disappear from the scales, will give me I better…

Yep add me too!! I've got another 110 pounds to lose, so I'm gonna be around for a while

I'm originally from near you - Bolton to be exact. But i moved away about 7 yrs ago and live in France now. There are no pubs near us, no take aways, no indian, no chinese, no kebab, no pie shops, oh I've gotta stop, I'm making myself depressed!!! social life here is going to friends houses for meals - of which is…

My brother died when i was 6 - he was 9 due to illness, then followed shortly by my grandparents. My dad spent most of my childhood trying to kill himself , but died anyway in his 50s due to be unhealthy, my mum also, and now I've got by brother-in-law staying with me who talks about dying and killing himself all the…

Well done you!! that's a really great and inspirational story, I would love to find out when you reach your target - do you have a date in mind that you aiming for? the idea of adding a minute a day to the elliptical trainer is a very good idea (derr why didn't I think of that?!) Also when you say " Couple this with…

I suppose the correct thing to say would be 'remember why you started losing weight in the first place' but sometimes we forget how it felt being overweight/fatter. Has your routine become boring? Try something new or a different activity. Do you have the same hairstyle as before your started? Maybe go for something…

On the scales topic - that's how my have been!! I can gain 5lbs within 3 attempts at weighing myself, so now I just weigh once THAT'S IT!! That one reading has to be the one that counts. Also do you measure yourself as you may see more results that way, as size is more important than weight :-)
-
I totally agree!! There's no rush, slow and steady gives you time to adjust and acclimatise yourself to your new way of life. I've tried the quick approach before and always fail as I feel deprived. You carry on with how your doing things if it's working or you
-
Yeah me too!! I've lost 31lbs/14kgs and can't tell at all!!!!! I wish I looked as slim on the outside as I feel on the inside! I FEEL like I've lost weight, but can't see it when I look in the mirror. The inches are coming off when I measure myself once a month, but I don't SEE it. Some clothes feel baggy but then again…

Well done!! That's a great achievement - be proud of yourself, I am!!

Hi feel free to add me!! :-) Losing weight is hard, but you know you can do it - and you came back which means you know you want to do it!! I'm here if you need me :-)

Your doctor obviously judged you on first sight, and wanted to categorise you into what he thought it was you needed. You have obviously proven him wrong!! But more importantly you are proving to yourself, that you are of strong character and a determined one at that! I fully understand were you are coming from…
