Foods from Fibre

Hi there
I would like to increase my fibre intake, however I cannot eat any fruit or dairy at the moment, so I'm looking for advice on what else is out there please.
I cannot buy flax seeds or chia seeds where I live and to purchase over the internet is too expensive - they're a no no.
All bran takes like cardboard when eaten on it's own or with water, so that's out.
I have porridge for breakfast made with water and it just and I mean only just bearable.
I know there are other types of milk out there, but at the moment I am told by the doc to have none, so none it is.
So basically, could you tell me any veg or foods you have found that are high in fibre, and that you regularly eat, and are tasty.
Thanks in advance

Anything wholegrain like wholegrain bread, brown rice or wholewheat pasta, potatoes, especially with the skins on eg jacket potatoes or new potatoes, beans or lentils, and veggies veggies veggies!!0

Mushrooms are great for that, especially cloud ears.
Beans, especially navy (at 13 fiber per cup).
Try adding barley or cracked wheat to your soups and if available choose dark rye bread.
Artichokes have about 12-15 fiber in one cup.
Things like cauliflower, eggplant, leafy greens, cabbage.. etc.0 -
Berries are loaded with fiber0

Beans are an easy addition to most meals. I make a black bean salad with avocado, tomatoes, red onion, lime juice, salt, cumin, and cilantro that has 5 grams of fiber and 84 calories per 100 grams and it's delicious.
Also, you could try buying high fiber bread and tortillas/wraps. I use Nature's Own Double Fiber wheat bread with 50 calories and 5 grams of fiber per slice. I also absolutely love La Tortilla Factory's Low Carb/High Fiber wraps. The large ones have 12 grams of fiber and are only 80 calories.
If all else fails, use a supplement like benefiber.0 -

tennisdude200 thankyou for that link, I've printed it out and will discuss it with my doc when I next see him, it has given me some options.
I always eat the skins on potatoes - they're the best bit!! :-)
