  • I go to http://insanitycalories.com/ to give me an average calories burned. That way I can keep things balanced better. Probably doesn't give a perfect number, but it has worked for me. However, you're going to feel famished either way -- insanity won its name for good reason. :)

  • The treadmill combines both your heart rate (if it has that feature) and speed to make it's calculation. You probably slowed down enough at times for it to adjust to 600 calories. You can change the amount of calories instead of having to adjust the time.
