The thing I look at is there is Average size and Healthy size for your body type and height. Average size in America will be larger because our overall population is heavier then a lot of others, this is going to vary depending on tread within the population over the years. Focus on what is considered a healthy weight and…

Congradulations that is a success worth sharing :)

Mary, I started out at 215 and dropped about 10 lbs. a month just with the calorie watching and minimal exercise until I reached about 185. When I hit that weight I really need to step up and challenge myself more with exercise and maintain the same calorie intake to continue to drop. I also found that I had to be choosier…

Sugars from fruits are not as bad as some other sugars because fruit also tends to have fiber in it as well to help process it. You have to watch for the hidden sugar in products you don't expect to see it in. Common items like catch up, granola bars, yogert, salad dressing all have bad sugars in them (generally speaking).…

You know I had the same problem for a long time. It wasn't always from candy and snacks, but I have to say that I did crave them and had them more often then I should have. I have in the last two weeks changed to a more natural diet, eating fresh fruits, vegetables, and meat. I have avoided getting process, canned or…

You know I had a Pomegranate Vinaigrette that was to die for when out to eat recently. I may try your recipe and switch out the berries for Pomegranate.

I try to do something active every day, unless by body is telling me to take a day off. I will not workout with weights all 7 days. If I am doing any strenght training I keep it to no more than 6 days a week, hitting different muscle groups every day so I am not hitting the same one two days in a row. On my day off from…

Cleaned out the house, all bad things are gone. Thanks for the reminder, some of my friends don't always encourage the best eating habits and I need to start standing my ground and not giving into temptation!!!
Simple: Water weight (5lbs & 1.5 inches in your waist). Don't worry about it hun, & get back on it today :)
I hope that is true, I have been tring to be sure I am drinking a lot more water. I use to only drink 1 or two glasses a day and have been working at getting the number up. The last week it has been…

I did track my food for most of the month, keeping close to my goal but had two 4 day periods that I was not tracking and not eating well. I wouldn't be surprised if they were 2000 calorie days. I was more inconsistent with my workouts only getting about 2 weeks of workouts in for the month, most consistent was a solid 5…

I know when I was working and going to school full time I was having a hard time keeping focused. I tried to manage what I could which was my food intake and choices. I slowing started to work in small streignth training sessions. 10 min here, 15 min there until I could find a time for a long walk or work out of 30 + min.…

I try to do this as well, but I work in Grocery stores so the temtation is really high since all of the Junk food is right up front!!! I do find it very hard to resist, but if I do cheet and get something then I look at how much extra I took in and require myself to burn it of in my workout. [Or at least I am getting beter…

I want to thank everyone that gave suggestions. I just downloaded the Cardio Trainer and love it. Used it for the first time tonight like that it tracks speed, miles, calories and time. I can share on face book and set myself reminders for regular workouts. Thanks a bunch everyone!!!!!!!

I’m a complete and total sugar addict. If I try to withhold from having sweets when I am craving them I go off the deep end and gorge beyond control. I would recommend having something small and sweet when you want it. I also subbed my normal candy with a lot of fruits, and baby carrots which help me feel better about…

I keep some healthier snacks around like granola bars, trail mix or nuts. Something that will make me feel like I have had something to tide me over, when I go for friuts at that time I just get more hungry and want to eat more sweets. I am a sugar addict so that is really not a good time for me. Some times I will even…

I yoyo up and down as well, I take those days when I go back up as motivation to work out more or a little harder keeping up on my food calorie intake. Don't be discouraged, the long hall is what you’re in for, not the daily changes! You can do it; it will keep coming off as long as you stick to your goal.
-
From my understanding you want to hit your daily goal. MFP has already reduced your calorie intack to help you achive your weight loss goal.
-
If you have been going hard for 7 days straight a light day or a day off may be needed to help your body recover. Make sure you are taking the time to stretch after and before you exercise. Especially if your body is not used to it, you need a warm up time that includes stretching and it may help you work through some of…

Try to figure out if you want to eat because you are really hungry or eating because of your mood. If you are eating for any other reason than true hunger try to keep yourself busy and active so you don't have time to eat. Grab a couple of healthy snacks like some of the other posts suggested. I find that when all I want…

You can add me as well. I need to lose about another 40lbs to hit my goal lost 10 since I started.
-
That is great. I know few friends that can use this as much as I can.

I agree with a lot of these posts, don't give up. You have to make sure your eating the right amount of calories, but remember if you hit a plato in change up your fitness routeen. Try something new, add more weight something. The fitness people are all saying that you have to keep challanging yourself in new ways to keep…

Create your own workout if you need to, I know I did for some of my workout videos. I also found another site that gives you estimated calories burned. http://www.calories-burned.buddyslim.com/ This is what I shows for Zumba: Zumba burns about 536 calories per hour Hope this helps.

I agree, I have read from many fitness mags that you have to do strength training to build muscle and muscle burns fat at a faster rate. I have heard the same thing your trainer is telling you and it is good advice. If you want to work on your cardio to help with stamina or cholesterol alternate your days, so you have one…

No, you need to build muscle to help you keep off the fat over time. The calories they recommend are already lowered for your goal to help you achive weight loss, so if you don't eat back your calories your body thinks your taking in only the Net amount which may not be enough for you. I don't eat back 100% of my calories…

2lbs a week is a good goal, healthy and will make it easyer for you to stay on track. I am on the same goal 2lbs a week. I did it last year and lost 40 lbs in 4 months, lost focus and gained back 15, but have refocused myself again this year and I know we can both make our goals.

Treadmills do cause more shock to your lower body, and ellipticalls give a more full body workout. If you like to use equipment I would stick to what you are doing.
-
Congradulation, you look great! I don't have the Shred video but others by her and they allways make you feel good afterword.

I am a sugar addict as well, but instead of chocolate I love the candys made from Corn Syrup that are horable! I eat a lot of fruits that are sweet and when the craving is really strong go for some of the "diet" products like the Smart ones or Skinny Cow deserts/ice creams for a fix. But I have been known to also eat a…
