  • Love your pics! What an awesome accomplishment; and just the beginning! Congratulations!
  • That's great , Rita! I stopped by last week & didn't see the thread & then got busy & forgot to check again. Anyways , I am down 2.2 pounds for the 2 weeks. Hope everyone is doing well!
  • Looks like lots are due for nice losses next week! Hang in there; those results are just taking longer to show up.
  • Happy Sunday, everyone! Rita, another pound gone is terrific! I am down 1.8 pounds this week, and less than 5 to go to my goal! Supposed to be very hot here again today, but I hope to get out and work in the garden awhile! Hope everyone had a wonderful week!
  • I dropped 3 pounds this week; down to 160.2! Quite a surprise since I didn't log food yesterday, as I was celebrating my grandson's 1st birthday. He was a preemie born 12 weeks early, and has come so far; there was much to celebrate! Hope everyone has had a wonderful week!
  • Hi everyone! I am down .8 of a pound this week. I am working on the last 10 pounds now, so it will likely be a slow process, but I will persevere! Joan194, that's a wonderful start keep up the great work! Have a wonderful week, all! Joan
  • Yay you! That is such an awesome NSV! My sons are in their 30s and I still remember the day we took off the training wheels for my oldest, and him asking "When are you gonna let go?", and me saying, "I already did!" Moments so precious... how exciting for you to be able to be part of his big success!
  • I would not go below 1500 calories; just too hard to get enough nutrients & also hard to stick with. I started in November @ 225, and in 5 months dropped over 50 pounds, and I am 55 years old! I ate around 1500 calories a day with plenty of veggies and protein, and was never hungry. I do exercise daily , either strength…
  • With tears in my eye,s I thank you for sharing your remarkable story of courage and determination! And I just want to give your precious husky a huge hug!
  • Hello & Welcome! I am 55, joined MFP in November & have taken off (not lost because I don't intend to find them again!) over 50 pounds! My waist was 39 inches, and I couldn't even wear size 20 pants unless they had elastic waists! My waist is now 31 inches, and grocery shopping 2 weeks ago, my size 12 pants (with a…
  • I enjoy exercising every day, but I vary it. Currently, I do upper body weights twice a week, lowers twice a week, interval cardio twice a week and one day of yoga. I don't use a gym, but enjoy DVDs especially by Cathe Friedrich. I aim for about 45 minutes a day, a bit more when I have the time, and less when I don't.
  • I am finding the sugar info in foods fascinating, but I find the MFP goal very unrealistic if you are aiming for 5-9 servings of fruits & veggies each day! The sugar in fruits/veggies comes packed with fiber & so many nutrients, that overrestricting it seems counterproductive to health! So I have custom set my sugar goal…
  • I just got this series & LOVE it! I think it is her absolute best, and I have been doing Cathe workouts for close to 15 years! I welcome any Cathe fans to please add me as a friend.
  • My favorite is with Trader Joes Reduced Guilt Spinach & Kale Dip (made with Greek Yogurt) , but I also like with a big squeeze of lime, a little avocado, and some salsa.
  • Hi Theresa, I have the same problem being just to worn out to exercise after work, so I go to bed early and get up earlier to get my workout in before I leave the house for the day. I never thought I would look forward to getting up early to exercise, but I do! I feel so energized and my mood uplifted and ready to face the…
  • How was the Zumba party? I took some classes last year, and they were soooo fun and a great workout! Glad you are enjoying the exercise; I have been exercising a long time and still really look forward to getting energized by my morning workouts!
  • That sounds so fun! You are brave; 40 mph on a wooden sled is scary enough, but the 1 mile walk uphill would really terrify me! ENJOY!
  • I enjoy working out every day, a half hour if I am working, or more if I'm off. Sometimes I take one day a week just to do a long yoga workout, or if the weather permits (which it hasn't in awhile), I like to go biking, hiking, or snowshoeing. I love strength training, so I try to work lower body & abs one day, upper body…
  • Congrats! that is awesome that you've already improved your health so much!
  • That sounds fun; when I was teaching, I went to an after school Zumba class and it was a lot of fun & a very challenging, even though I wasn't really keeping up with the rest of the class! Strength training is so important too; I have used kettlebells and they are both fun and I really feel them especially in the core &…
  • I do a mix of cardio, strength training & yoga. For the strength training, I like to hit all muscle groups with my heaviest weights twice a week. Depending on the amount of time I have, I might do uppers one day & lower the next. I try to fit in a 25-30 minute Hiit cardio workout twice a week, and 1 hour of yoga and/or fun…
  • Hi everyone! I have been using exercise DVDS , (well actually started with VHS) for close to 20 years now, especially to get me through the winters when I can't ride my bike for cardio. I especially like strength training workouts by Cathe Friedrich, and do some of the Supreme 90 workouts. I've started to really enjoy Hiit…
  • Hi, I'm 55, and have a new grandson & granddaughter, (in my pic) I am about halfway to my goal of a healthy weight and already feeling so much better able to get around and be active! I've sent friend request, and welcome them from other grannies/grandmas/nanas etc!
  • I usually alternate between 2 basic breakfasts, but I change up the addins so it doesn't get boring. I like steel cut oatmeal with a little fruit, Greek yogurt & seeds or nuts. My alternate breakfast is egg plus eggwhites with lots of veggies & a bit of cheese. I usually have some type of salad for lunch with either tuna…
  • I am about 5 years postmenopause, and about halfway to success, having shaved almost 6 inches off my waist since November. My diary is open; take a look if you wish. I also do strength training to preserve muscle mass, so I try to have plenty of protein. I get most of my carbs from vegetables in as many different colors as…
  • Hi, Another postmenopausal lady here; have taken off about half the weight I need to, and getting serious about strength training! Best wishes for success; I will add you as a friend, Joan
  • Great ideas! Thanks! I am so ready for grilling season!

  • Also one of my favorites!
  • Terrific! What a wonderful feeling to accomplish your goal! The 1st of many more!
