I'm also interested in doing a 5K but I think I want to take two months or so to train for it. By then it will be winter though, not sure how many winter 5K's there are. ;)

26 and child free (except for my two wonderful cats). I've met lots of amazing women my age and younger that have had children and are in incredible shape, so I can see where you're coming from! Friend requests always welcomed.

I usually cook about 3-4x a week, and when I cook I make a lot so that it lasts for multiple meals (casseroles, soups, and such). I'd like to cook more than that but with my inconsistent retail schedule it is challenging.

I've been that friend before. It's easy to get started, hard to keep going. The direct approach is definitely a good idea, and also keeping the door open and continuing to be supportive and encouraging. Just because she isn't on the journey now doesn't mean she won't meet up with you later on it. :)

I don't have a free day, but I can see how it could be helpful. Everyone's journey is different and you have to find what works best for you! That said, if I want a treat and I don't have the calories to spare that day, it's good motivation to do a workout so I can "earn" it. :)
