All great advice in this post, essentially you want to use enough weight where you reach failure (you couldnt not complete one more rep even if you tried). If you think you could of done a couple more reps at the end of the set you should use more weight. Now the length of your sets will be determined by what your goals…

Free weights and barbells would be my first choice and I would HIGHLY recommend them, however if you do find yourself using weight machines STAY AWAY from the leg abductor and adductor machines

Thanks everyone I really aprecciate it! and to panshee - before I would do a weightlifting routine followed by about 30-45 minutes of cardio and be at the gym for about 4-5 days a week if anyone has any questions for me please feel free to ask

I actually did Insanity through and through the whole program and I really enjoyed it. its definitely a challenge and takes a commitment but its definitely worth it, as long as your giving your best effort you'll see awesome results your goal is to get toned and fit which is what insanity will do for you, good luck!

If your looking for strength gains then perform exercises with a weight where you'll reach failure in 8-10 reps, failure being you could not possibly do one more rep even if you tried. please dont be scared of getting wicked muscular if you lift heavy weights, if it were that easy then every guy would be walking around…
