bump - but also - this isn't paleo. Paleo = no cheese.

That's the only thing I can think. Made up example - maybe 3oz of raw mussel meat cooks down to 2oz of steamed- so those would be equal calories but if you wanted 3oz of steamed you'd have to start with more raw.

Would you mind sharing you lifing routine?

I use a food scale and find the nutrition information based on grams or ounces.

I know this doesn't answer your question, but I think you calorie goal is too low. Even if you eat back your exercise calories, you are netting below your bmr. You should always eat at least your bmr.

I actually put cottage cheese in most of my smoothies instead of milk. Once it's blended you wouldn't know the difference except it is thicker than milk would be.

I do think sometimes running just makes you hungrier. I would be careful about increasing your calories too much because honestly, couch to 5k isn't THAT much running, especially in the beginning.

I think edamame is pretty high in protein relative to carbs

Awesome!! Are you doing the regular plan or the lean plan?

Just wanted to add....when you first start to increase you calories you might see a slight gain on the scale. It will take your body a little while to adjust since you have been eating at BMR. Don't let this discourage you.

I think it depends how much you are eating over 2000 on the weekends. For example - If you are eating 1500 today but then on Saturday you eat 2300, those 2 days average to 1900/day. I don't know that I would increase what you are eating during the week until you know how much you are overeatting on the weekend.
