How do I know what my macros should be?

Hello. I'm not new here but I am devoting myself to logging and actually trying to care more about the contents of food that goes into my body rather than calories. Anyways... I'm 5'6" 213 pounds. Lightly active but getting back in the gym. I'm looking to lose weight through strength training and cardio. The scooby calculator gives me the measurements for the following:
BMR: 1768 calories
TDEE: 2431calories
my MFP is set at 1536 and I eat back exercise calories
I'm just wondering what good macros would be like. For example today MFP says I ate
51% carbs
28% fat
21% protein
I'm thinking maybe my carbs are too high and my protein should be higher?

Hey hey.
Maybe try a 40/40/20 approach Protein/Carb/Fat or even 45/35/20.
This is a fairly standard macro approach to lose weight so why not give it a try!0 -

I know this doesn't answer your question, but I think you calorie goal is too low. Even if you eat back your exercise calories, you are netting below your bmr. You should always eat at least your bmr.0 -

Thanks! I will up my calories if I don't notice a change with how I'm doing things.0
