Sure hope your husband heals quickly, @LittleSurferGirl7! That’s scary for sure. Prayers to him and you. I hate that it happened. BUT if it becomes your motivation for successfully getting the alcohol monkey off your back, then it may be worth the bit of pain he’s having to endure right now. I walked today and we picked up…

Thanks @deepwoodslady! I’m feeling properly motivated this time. 😁

@Womona and @LittleSurferGirl7 sometimes all you need is a good vanilla ice cream. I love a good real vanilla bean ice cream when in can get it. I’m a chocolate fiend, but I will pass it up for real vanilla bean ice cream. Was thinking about a walk today, but it is raining and I’m tired. Hubby didn’t sleep well last night,…

August Start Weight: 199.6 August Goal Weight: 195.6 Ultimate Goal Weight: 147.6 August 4: 199.6 August 11: August 18: August 25: September 1: I’ve been battling work and life, but I’m back. Hubby mentioned a vow renewal for our 20th anniversary. I started thinking about the dress I bought for our wedding but never wore……

A-2 AF-2 Two to 2, and it may just be 2 to 29 the end of this month. I know that no wine will help my weight loss efforts if for no other reason I won’t do the late night snacking that occurs when I drink. @Womona that is exactly why I don’t buy chips, they truly are a weakness! They will get eaten especially if I have…

As planned, no wine tonight. So, first AF day of August in the books (or on the spreadsheet😉). I was doom scrolling TikTok, and apparently my algorithm picked up my anniversary talk and decided I needed to see all the wedding dress restoration videos. This got me thinking about my own, never-been-worn wedding dress (wore…

Haven’t had an AF day yet. I opened a bottle for cooking on Friday, and I think I used about a third of it then I drank the rest. Last night, the hubby and I had our anniversary date at the mystery murder dinner theater. I had a glass of wine with dinner. The murder mystery was fun (its was a comedy) they incorporated the…

@Womona I really want him and his brother to put her in a home, but my husband is SOOO unbelievably resistant to it. My BIL is all for it. He has no love-loss for her, and he kept telling my husband not to put her above the kids and me. My husband keeps saying he doesn’t want to leave her alone and without family. This is…

Glad I could give you a chuckle this morning. 😉

@globalhiker Maybe they are related! Lol Today is our 19th wedding anniversary. At this point if he screws with that doorbell again at some ungodly hour, it’ll be our last anniversary! 🙄 I need my sleep when I can get it!

Thanks! I figured it was probably something like that. Glad it was an easy fix. Have fun at Jazz!

@itladyee oops! I don’t know why in thought that column was A days. Lol. But, please do look at everyone’s formula for checking AF days. Most rows stop at column AG, but I changed mine to AJ. Anyone else have a jerk of a husband who wakes up at 3am and forgets that everyone else is sleeping and wakes them up by doing…

@itladyee i noticed the counts aren’t working right on the spreadsheet. I updated the AF days on row 5 for July because it didn’t count to the last cell, but I’m not sure about editing the A days. I have 4 A days, but it’s only counting 3. Anyway, just thought you could check on those formulas when you had a chance.…

@Alatariel75 welcome back, and I am very sorry for your loss. I’m sure I speak for everyone when we say feel free to “brain dump” whenever you need to. That’s what we’re here for. I understand the drinking alone with feelings rather than just having a drink when you’re alone. So, your goals make sense to me.

Well, they don’t have in-home dialysis unless she goes back to peritoneal dialysis (PD) which would require install of an abdominal catheter, but there is a high rate of infection with it. She ended up in the hospital A LOT when she was doing PD. So, she switched to hemodialysis and had the catheter removed. She seems to…

@Michieb125 @itladyee @SparkSpringtime69 @nburns167 I was laying in bed last night trying to get to sleep when I realized I made an error in the Parmesan measurement. Should be 1/4-1/3 cup, not 1/2-1/3. Ok, and this is why I typically drink. Laying in bed replaying every conversation, email, text message before I fall…

@itladyee here are the pastry recipes I bought puff pastry, thawed both sheets, and rolled it out a little. I cut each one into 8 rectangles. For the filling, I had two blocks of cream cheese that I let soften. I whipped one block until fluffy, added a packet of sugar in the raw and whipped more. I divided that as evenly…

I did finish the bottle of wine I bought for cooking last night, but I planned on it. It was only 2 glasses, but the way I poured it made it appear to be 3. I didn’t mean to pour a half glass on the first one (menopause brain fog kicked in); but I did which ended up being a half glass, full glass, and half glass. It was…

I’m dying! That is the current weather in my part of SC. @SparkSpringtime69 I’m sure wherever you are in SC, you’re feeling the same thing! It’s like the devil decided to visit the south! UGH! I decided today to buy wine to add to my gravy (spaghetti sauce). I bought a Chianti which isn’t my usual wine, but I love it as…

MIL will be home tomorrow, or so they say. But, she has been diagnosed with respiratory failure. They are saying she cannot miss dialysis ever! Which she had missed on Monday before she went to the ER on Tuesday because she was sick with diarrhea. So, I guess she’s going to dialysis no matter what no excuses. Spent the day…

MIL went to her follow up with the primary after Tuesday’s ER visit only to be sent by ambulance back to the ER. It appears her edema around her lungs has gotten worse. She’s been there all day, and we still don’t know what they plan to do. My husband left a little bit ago to go get her something to eat because for some…

Sounds like a great evening, @itladyee! A little back porch sittin’ and a nice cold ‘tini… count me in!😉 AF-21 A-3 My daughter had an infusion today, so 3 hours working from the clinic’s kiddie table, LOL. Then, my husband grabbed 2 of the grandkids for afternoon playtime and pool time with PopPop. Work was uneventful…

@Womona MIL is overweight, but not nearly as much as she was last year before she spent a couple months hospitalized for her aortic dissection. She was in a 5xl before, and now she can wear XL. She feels more comfortable in 2xl, but she can wear XL just fine. I feel like the endocrinologist is just pushing the ozempic too…

@Womona and @itladyee MIL was released yesterday evening at about 8:30. To my surprise, my husband was still awake and went to pick her up. YAY! Anyway, nothing was found. ER doctor told her to come back if it happens again, go see her primary, and make sure she makes it to dialysis. She went to dialysis today. Her…

Declaring tonight AF because the mother-in-law went by ambulance to the ER this afternoon because she was having trouble breathing. My husband is acting like he can’t keep his eyes open which means when it’s time to go get her, that’ll be my job. 🫤 (whispers to self… all things for love of Him… all things for love of Him……

AF-18 A-3 Tried to not think of work as an obligation today. Boy, that was a true struggle, and I definitely did not succeed. How many times is too many times in a day to look at your retirement account app praying for a miracle? Asking for a friend…

Received a very clear message from God yesterday to live and work for love of Him instead of out of obligation making it burdensome. Today, I am going to pray for this. I guess this is the difference some of you talk about regarding being intentional or mindful about your drinking choices. I just need to do it for all…

AF-16 A-3 To do list: Clean bathrooms ✅ Go get new glasses for me and my daughter ✅ Might have to make a grocery store run for a couple items the husband may have forgotten yesterday✅ (didn’t go to the store, but did order via Instacart when I realized I needed more toilet bowl cleaner and was still in my pjs) Bake bread ✅…

@itladyee no time off yesterday. I probably could’ve taken it, but I got really deep into Excel and power pivot on a few of my auditing spreadsheets for work and lost track of time. I’m even starting to see how a couple of my spreadsheets can work in tandem, and I started getting giddy because it’ll save me so much time in…

I can safely mark today SAFE FROM ALCOHOL since the “magic bottle” didn’t appear after the magician went grocery shopping. I may end up having some wine next weekend, but I’m not sure yet because plans are evolving. Introduction… ok, let’s see… I’m a wine drinker, occasionally and Old Fashioned, Jack and Coke, or Dirty…
