The fittest, most badass woman I know was a massive crossfit junkie about 9 years ago, and now she has PT qualifications and tells anyone who will listen that it is dangerous, and a terrible thing to do to your body....

That's your steps for the last month. I've highlighted yellow where it says steps, and green there it says a month. If you tap where it says steps, you will be able to choose other options, like weight, calories, and measurements, and if you tap where it says 1 month, you will be able to choose other periods of time to…

Having read up a little on it (here's a decent write up - https://relentlessforwardcommotion.com/total-body-enhancement-at-planet-fitness-a-review/), I would not be tracking it as anything like exercise and maybe only seeing it as an additional self care routine with some potential benefits in recovering from actual…

OK, I'm pulling my head in and getting back on track today. I've not blown my calories too badly the last few days, but it's not about the numbers, it's about the mindset, and my mindset has been far too much in the "just eat it, what difference does it make" place. I know I'm really off track when I start eating things I…

I was running forums in 2004 that had the ability to put a limit on the number of new thread a user could create in a certain time period. I cannot understand why Vanilla doesn't have/utilise this feature.

Sorry to disappoint, but the response you got is the copy and paste response to every suggestion made in this section going back years. Even the suggestions which are brought up over, and over again. One suggestion was made again the other day which is made all the time (a search function for Recipe Discovery) and I was…

I am not deliberately eating low carb, but they're not my favourite (I'm happy without pasta, rice, bread, not majorly fond of potatoes - my carbs of choice are highly processed sugars which I am staying right away from), and so I adjusted my macros to 40% carb, 30% protein and 30% fat because protein and fat makes me full…

It's a gimmick basic math equation, based on a very simple calculation, meant to be motivating. Basically it looks at what it calculates your maintenance to be, then subtracts your net calories (day's intake - output), then multiplies that by the 35 days, and divides by 3500 (as the average human needs to have a deficit of…

I had a lot of weight to lose (still have a fair bit to lose) and I'll be honest - I didn't 'take advantage' of that higher allowance, because the idea of having to decrease how much I ate as I lost weight was a bit depressing. I didn't cut super low, but I have been eating around 1400 a day (plus one, maybe 2 days a week…

Maintenance is a range, not a targeted number. It sounds like you're still eating in that range. Are you accurately weighing and measuring your food? Tracking everything? In 38 days, I'm not surprised that you're not seeing or feeling changes in clothes or by sight, it's only been 38 days, and from what you've said you…

Hi Tricia, I am counting my calories, not excluding anything but prioritising lots of veg, lean meats and whole foods, still having a chocolate treat every day, and have upped my exercise (lots of walking, and a couple of exercise classes a week). I'm 61lbs down since August.
-
What's a little bit of a deficit? Are you weighing and measuring your food? Checking your diary entries? All calorie measurements, those in food, in exercise burns, that we use each day, are estimates, approximations. It doesn't take much of a variation to eat away a small deficit.

@Gidgitgoescrzy I'm in South Australia! We're having a glorious summer, it's not been crazy hot (where I am it's not unusual to have multiple days of 107F+ in a row) but we've had a couple of weeks of it being around 95, so the pool is in, the hikes are out. Today is lovely and cool (around 70F) so I'm going to hike after…

PW: 94.8 CW: 94.1 Pretty happy with this! Life's still been disrupted with the little fella, but I'm getting my routine back and have adjusted my eating to suit my change in awake hours. I may or may not have found the last box of left over Christmas chocolates, and they may or may not be with us any longer, but at least…

There's not a huge amount of us Aussies here, hello from down southward!

Not a feature, sadly. A friend can go to your diary (if your settings allow) and copy the entry for the recipe from your diary to theirs, but it won't have the details of the recipe. What you could do is have them do that so that their diary has the entry, and then screencap them the recipe itself and email/message it over?

The activity level question is meant for your standard daily level not including purposeful exercise. So I am a desk worker, but I walk 15000 steps a day as exercise, do yoga daily, and go to various classes 3-4 times a week. I have mine set at sedentary, and let those exercises be added back as extra calories, because if…

@lauren_989 I hope you recover swiftly! Take it easy! @MaddawgMadsen I'm glad you got there with your mom, it's not easy but so necessary. Well, the 2 weeks after the holidays ended seemed to be looking up, but things have crashed and burned again here, and this time I have a 4 legged maniac to deal with lol. Ah well, half…

Wbhen I run into an issue like this, I look it up on the USDA - https://fdc.nal.usda.gov/ and then find an entry that matches that info.

I've stuffed them with ricotta and battered and fried them, they're tasty but that's mostly the cheese - the blossoms themselves are pretty flavourless, it's more for looks. They're really pretty and fun to make!

@ashleycarole86 oh no!! Feel better, that's the worst!!

Lean meat, basically. Chicken, fish, turkey, lean pork all have very low fat, no cdarbs and are basically pure protein sources.

MFP should?

Happy birthday!!

Curious, what's your source for this? Grapes contain naturally occurring melatonin and are usually touted as a good before bed snack. Peanuts/peanut butter before bed has also been touted as improving sleep, though a study didn't show marked improvement - it also didn't show any detriment.

I honestly found my long term success when I got so burnt out caring for others that for my own sanity, I pulled it all back in and started putting myself first. I started walking, moving, cooking food that I knew was good for me, and really being mindful of allowing myself to look after myself. It's also made me better at…

Not really, save for setting your macros to match whatever the recommended macros for carnivore are. MFP doesn't have specific settings for specific diets, it just allows a user to customise their macros, fasting schedules, number of meals etc.
