I have some hot pepper jelly (Mick's Buzztail, if you're familiar) that I'd like to pair with a creamy cheese to introduce it to some friends. I'll be serving it on rye & pumpernickel Melba crackers. What sort of cheese would you suggest?

BMR is Basal Metabolic Rate, which means it's the baseline for your body to function before you count exercise. If you're using MFP's method, it expects you to eat back your calories, so that your NET calories do not fall below that BMR. Day-to-day totals are somewhat less important than weekly totals, so 'saving up for…

It doesn't really need to be 'post workout,' as there's very little evidence outside of the realm of broscience to support the 'catabolic window' theory often cited for meal timing. Protein shakes are not just for body builders, and the vast majority of women will not 'bulk up' on them unless something else in influencing…

The bacon waffle taco apparently clocks in at a quite reasonable calorie total. I'd absolutely have one if the taco bell in my town were open for breakfast. :grumble:

Two whole eggs in an omelette, two or more days a week. With the amount of pedestrian commuting I do on those days, skipping the eggs - or their yolks - would cut seriously into my protein and fat requirements.

I don't recall any questions about whether I walked or drove to the grocer's when setting my activity level; there was one about how much activity I did at work, and one about how much exercise I do in a week (which doesn't influence the calorie allowance MFP gives, since they expect you to log that as you do it). Where in…

Why would walking not count?

That's. . . a quite impressive amount of time devoted to exercise.

It's actually just those stone fruits, as well as (apparently) birch bark, that cause the issue.

I have a sensitivity to cherries and peaches (small doses make my soft palate itch; I've no desire to see what happens on larger doses). Are there reasonable non-pitted substitutes for these items in recipes?

Some other sites are starting to talk about a phenomenon they call 'internet Asperger's* Syndrome.' With only the written words on the screen in front of a forumite, s/he is not necessarily able to pick up communication cues gleaned from other forms of interaction that can convey empathy. As a result of this perceived lack…

Samardzija also pitched brilliantly; Liriano simply pitched better, and there's no shame in losing to a pitcher who is on his game (it happens a lot, statistically. Remember, good hitters FAIL at their most basic job description 7 times out of 10). There are 161 games to go; I'm willing to bet that several of the teams…

There are some folks who will interpret any disagreement with their position as mean and hateful. Should we avoid voicing any disagreement with someone's stated position - regardless of its merits - in order to avoid being 'mean' or 'hateful' in the eyes of these people?

That does mean they're still a Major League team. . . .

Between Cano, Larry Bernandez, and Taijuan Walker, the Mariners could win tens of games this year! :flowerforyou:

Indeed. The water in juice counts. The water in milk counts. The water in coffee counts. The water in beer and wine counts. the water in food counts. Practically any source of water that isn't brine counts. . . and '8 glasses a day' was a descriptive, not prescriptive, analysis (from the 1940's) to begin with.
-
Coffee hydrates folks just fine; studies show the dehydration effect of the caffeine is minimal on anyone with any sort of built-up tolerance.
-
I'll just leave this here: http://www.snopes.com/medical/myths/8glasses.asp Soda, coffee, juice, soup, etc. all contribute to your daily hydration, as does the liquid present in a majority of fruits and vegetables. . . or even meats. There's nothing magical about 8 glasses a day, or about H2O that's been separated from…

Nice concept. [nitpick]"You're" - contraction indicating 'you are;' "your" - indicative of possession.[/nitpick]

I'm wondering which fast food joint is serving beer; the Wendy's around here has yet to install a kegerator.

So, which part is bad? Eating late, or having a milkshake? If it's the "synthetic sugars" (which are labeled "even worse" above), what makes them "even worse"? How is a body differentiating between "synthetic" and "natural" sugars as it breaks them down for energy, exactly?

So, anecdotal evidence is fine, but sarcasm is bad, during a debate. Got it.

To the OP: Google "college cafeteria nutrition listings" and find your particular school. First glance showed me 7 different schools in the greater Boston area. If your particular institution isn't listed, it's a good bet that the company - be it Aramark, Sodexo, or another - serves another area campus which is listed.…
