Needs a "Like" button, and possibly a sticky. Thank you, brave idiot.

Does this food pass your test? Or is this on your list of 'would not buy' foods based on its ingredient list being too hard to pronounce?

Quad Americano every day. They can take my caffeine away when they pry it from my cold, dead hands.

Food is fuel. When you exercise, you increase the amount of fuel your body needs. Not eating back any calories after increasing your exercise amount is like not adjusting the amount of gas you put in your car every week after changing the distance of your commute to work, or not adjusting the amount and frequency of oil…

Sunday is also my birthday. I shall be having ALL the calories. Zero bleeps will be given. One day does not undo a commitment to change, unless one lets it.

I do; the larger fluctuations come from - for example - getting weighed at the doctor's office (different scale, after eating and at an atypical time for me to weigh, in my clothes and winter boots).

Mayo Clinic Excerpt: Although the "8 by 8" rule isn't supported by hard evidence, it remains popular because it's easy to remember. Just keep in mind that the rule should be reframed as: "Drink eight 8-ounce glasses of fluid a day," because all fluids count toward the daily total. Snopes Excerpt: Regular coffee and tea…

If she asks, I'll tell her. If I asked, I suspect she'd do the same. That said, I didn't lose weight for her, and wouldn't expect her to change her weight just for me.

It can feel harder, depending on how much slack you cut yourself. If 'maintenance' means keeping yourself precisely within 2 - 3 pounds of your goal weight at all times, for example, that could be very hard, due to the way weight tends to naturally fluctuate, and the way our eating and exercise habits morph throughout the…

Chicken breast, check. Another pleasant surprise for me - that should have been less surprising had I thought about it more - was whipped cream.

Diet soda for the win.

*drool* It's a great day for science.

I think I might need that recipe. . . for science.

Why don't you believe water with flavor hydrates as well as 'plain water'?
-
I ask because, absent such medical issues, sugar is just another carbohydrate.
-
Why do you think you need to reduce it, specifically? Do you have a medical issue that caused your doctor to advise it?

1. For many folks, daily weighing is frustrating, as the body's natural fluctuations will make it appear you're losing and gaining weight inexplicably. 2. So long as you're consistent in the timing of your weigh-in, you can minimize the impact on those fluctuations. Your body weight will generally be lowest on a given day…

I do not understand the question. . . . On a serious note, there's at least one 'caffeine toxicity' website, telling how many of various caffeinated beverages you would need to drink for it to be 'too much.' Short of that, your own tolerance will vary based on your size, body composition, and habitual use. I've never seen…

With possible exceptions for high-level endurance athletes and some folks with blood-sugar issues, meal timing does not matter.
-
Except possibly in the cases of certain elite athletes engaged in endurance sports, meal timing is irrelevant, and the 'metabolic window' in which you need to get your protein is close enough to 24 hours as to make no difference.

What's your doctor's specific background in nutrition? For many, it's a single segment within a single class. How is your doctor verifying that giving up diet soda is the only variable that these patients who lose weight altered in order to achieve that result? Is the doctor personally watching these patients 24/7 to…

If I've gone over $120/month, it's a special occasion and I've had to allocate from other funds. I wonder how many of the folks with expenses over $500/month are in the 'eating healthy isn't more expensive' camp.

3500 calories = 1 pound. How far over your calories do you think you have to go on all three holidays - assuming you celebrate all three - in order to need this 'forgiveness' of which you speak?

Ah, MFP, where processed sugar is a worse poison than anthrax, cyanide, and hemlock.

You should totally start a site like that. Think of the number of people who would flock there.

How many am I hoping to eat?

Milk contains lactose. Lactose is a sugar. Unless you've got a specific medical issue that requires you to track sugar - and are advised to do so by a well-informed physician, nutritionist or dietitian - there's no reason to separate sugars from other carbohydrates.
