140 g/protein/ day amongst other things. Calories likely in the 2300-2400 range. Eat and weigh yourself. If you aren't gaining, then eat more! :o)

Open your diary if you want specific ideas. Also, do you weigh your food? Are you preparing everything yourself, or do you eat out?

One key detail about the scooby calculator is that his exercise calories do not get added to your daily amount. Activity is already included in TDEE. So don't add those walking calories, or 'cleaning, light effort' anymore.

One of my highest goals is to be able to leave MFP tracking behind. I lost weight, and seem to maintain better with it. I don't stress about every last number (I never weighed food, just estimated as best I could, and after trying to track the # of calories I burn, using estimations from heart rate monitors for instance, I…

I gave up being mindless about food, and I really gave up getting that 'stuffed' feeling every meal. Every once in a while I can get it, but if I do it every meal, that means I'm eating more than I can burn, EVEN when I'm exercising a lot. I've not given up desserts, though I have given up not caring/not having to track…

If getting laid is the only goal, seriously, just ask a lot of girls, and you'll get a sense pretty quick if they're interested. Lots of girls want to get laid too. You aren't asking enough of them if none are saying yes. Some here are suggesting to have a relationship....if you want a relationship, that's one way to get…

I just found this article here, which supports the DOMS isn't a good indicator of exercise quality argument most. http://www.myosynthesis.com/articles/doms-muscle-soreness The article goes into more about why DOMS isn't always associated with muscle growth. In general, I would maintain that I would celebrate any DOMS,…

When I get DOMS it's a GREAT sign that I did a good workout. Not sure what these folks are saying about it being bad. Certainly if it's in your joints, pain is bad, but general muscle aching is only achieved through working and stressing the muscles enough that they will come back stronger after adequate rest, nutrition…

I didn't eat much candy while I dieted, mostly because I felt BETTER because of it. But after a month or so I started adding small amounts of gummy candy that I REALLY loved. Didn't stop me from losing weight by any means. I also learned that it feels crappy to eat only candy, because I was really wanting more when I ran…

I only did squats today. ~90% of my bodyweight including bar. 3x12. Yesterday was only pushups, 5 sets of ~10 each, + core work for ~25 minutes.

I love being married. It's a symbol of our commitment to one another, and that commitment is a profound statement of love for us. It touches my heart almost every day. I really could not imagine my life without her. Without marriage both of us would worry more, and probably be less happy in the world. We both do our own…

I was never/rarely thinking about my weight when I entered into my relationship. I was moderately active, happy with myself, and did my own inner work. I found someone who I got to know, and we married with the inscription 'this will also change' on a wedding band. While married I gained 20+ lbs of 'happily married…

Find a sport! I love tennis because I'll run/sprint as much as I possibly can, but I just don't think of it as 'exercise'.

Excellent job so far!! That's no small task losing 70+! One thing I note is that the lighter you are, the less you can eat. So progress will always be slower as you approach your goal. Have faith that eating at a deficit with foods that satisfy your hunger the longest while being as active as you can reasonably sustain is…

Does VEHEMENTLY arguing that I have the only right way of answering the OP count as exercise? I'm sure I'm half a calorie or two lighter enjoying this post. By the way, I'm surprised nobody has mentioned smoking. Unless that's considered a diet. Just consider it a lifestyle change, curveball style. And please don't…

Toaster, nice find! That is only one study, but neat to skim some of it nonetheless. Thank you for posting!

Just gotta to say that I hear you on this. I do think there are aspects where a calorie is a unit of measurement, and just like any measurement it's only good for a few things. It doesn't talk about motivation, interaction effects or the like. I could talk about how I like only ~30 cubic inches of food and how that was the…

1) I might tell your family directly that such disparaging remarks about your body appearance do not facilitate your self confidence! 2) Round or flat booty really doesn't matter in many guys eyes, not that they are the end all-be all, if you're even straight. 3) I'd encourage you to embrace your body how it is rather than…

Is that X calories that you weren't otherwise going to burn by sitting on your butt? Just sitting down and doing nothing burns calories too. -skepticalsteve
