  • Bummer. I was hoping there was activity on here... :(
  • Awesome! I am not experienced with PCOS, but it seems very challenging to deal with. I had chronic inflammation in my knees that caused more tissue disease as time went on (as well as certain muscles not firing) I wish in retrospect I would have been more aggressive in dealing with it.
  • This happened to me too recently. At first it was 3 pounds, now it's 1.5. Still, VERY frustrating. I think what is really important is to listen to your gut instinct because we are our best advocate. Don't give up too soon (we all want instant results) Depending on how close you are to your goal, it will be slower. My…
  • I think checking into syncope is a good idea. You know, now that you mention it, I think I need a new doctor. She ran several typical blood tests, said I had low Vit D, and then did not really investigate further. My BG in the past has been low. But not consistently low - its odd. I don't have the other strips yet to check…
  • I weigh daily, and in the morning. When I started this, my goals were to lose the 20lbs that I gained over the last year, and figure out my blood sugar/dizzy issues, as well as fix my knees (patellofemoral). I used to run, and now I can't even do a 1 hour zumba class without my knees screaming and then I can hardly walk. I…
  • heck no... sounds like something I would pay for though. :) Are you working out? Maybe you toned up.
  • Awesome! Addresses some of my recent woes. Thank you
  • The cocoa marscapone cheese is the most important. :) I dip almonds in it as a treat. I buy the bagged chicken tenderloins, fish... cheese of coarse. Their prices cannot be beat. and the red wine. :-)
  • I took a peak. Depends on what your goals are and how your body works... If you want to achieve ketosis, then you are a bit high in carbs so you would want to take blood ketones to be sure. The best advice I received was "get your carbs from veggies" and while I don't stick to this exclusively (my treat is wine) I try my…
  • Yes... haven't done much yet. This weekend I will poke around and decide what to buy. I can't salt everything.... yuck!
  • I found Emergen-c electro Mix...no calories or carbs. Just some stevia.
  • Thanks Dan. This does help! I copied it so I could take it in. thanks so much!
  • Thanks TQ and Dan! Great thoughts Right now I think I need to track down a potassium supplement. I already take 200mg Mag. I don't think I am short on salt... But I am experiencing slight headaches and a little dizziness still. Possibly low blood sugar. Still waiting on these dang strips!
  • I am curious, for those of you following this thread, what methods do you all use when you notice the electrolytes are down? Do you try and hit all three (Mag/Potass/Salt)? How do you do that?
  • Add me! Love new friends! Jennifer (also from Michigan, but now in NC :0)
  • Thanks everyone... yes pretty sure this was the issue, and it helped!
  • I find foods I love to eat that keep me satisfied so I don't cheat. If I could pick a food group, it would Italian, so this process is much about fixing my addiction to carbs.
  • Thanks to deansdad and sljohnson, your thoughts and insights are much appreciated! This personal journey is such a puzzle, but I think I am finally getting them to fit together! I laughed out loud at the mom's wearing the 02 mask reference - it's so true. Without being our best, we cannot help anyone. Best, Jennifer
  • Cherie, Your goals sounds very similar to mine, thank you for the pork skin suggestion. Ive never had them. Great idea about the water, thank you!
  • I think it was mag/electrolytes that was causing the problem. Although today, I was so bad I needed to lay down and nap. Somehow I need to get stable in the morning. I might try a multivitamin and see if that helps. It going to be hard figuring out how to bring what I need to work each day. TQ- when I was a little kid, I…
  • Deansdad, So, my blood pressure, blood sugar, and temp was all measured before starting the diet. (I am only on day 4, and no way to measure as of yet). I knew these small issues would come and go over the years. I did have dizzy spells last spring, and they performed multiple tests to check for various forms of anemia.…
  • PS- Forgot to say - - new friends wanted... - please feel free to add me to your list! I am more of a reader than a poster, but shoot me a private message if you have questions or need support.
  • Thanks deadsdad101, I appreciate the support very much. I will start a new thread and give an update. :-) It's been 4 days and I am seeing some rough patches now.I discovered the launch pad and added it to my bookmarks. I am very excited to see some changes... first and foremost my energy. This fatigue has been…
  • Hi Dan, I have the same issue. I have a few things that helps me... A bi-product of doing any sort of exercise for me is the need to stop and drink water. Especially interval training like a body pump class. You can always stop and drink from your bottle sitting next to you and you are grateful! This is the time in my life…
  • Hello folks, I am on the hunt for fellow ketogenic dieters to sympathize with. Its been 3 days and so far so good. No "flu". I have been low carb before, but have not loaded on the fats before now. It seems to have helped...my activity level has been light (pilates/yoga/walking). My health has deteriorated over the last…
  • 5'2" and working to lose the 20lbs that snuck up on me. Starting ketogenic diet and hoping it does the trick!
  • Looking to give and receive support! Feel free to add me. I am embarking on the ketogenic diet for those of you who are... I am feeling good after 3 days. Hoping to loose my sugar issues in a hurry!
  • Start small... do something that will give you quick workout, but do it every day. The new research says it takes 2 months to really build a habit. Once you have the good feeling of accomplishment, you will be willing to push yourself harder. I know how you feel!
  • PS- I know this is HotMummyMission's post, but if anyone needs more friends for support, I am a new member today, and would love some fellow fat burners to add to my profile! I agree, most men are perv's- some can just decide to control it. This thread gave me a good laugh today... thanks all. :-)
