  • I agree...protein! I like organic oatmeal with raisings and a peice of whole grain toast with peanut butter. Or a boiled egg with the peanut butter toast. Mid-morning snack is important, too...I drink a BIG cup of hot tea and have a peice of fruit - kiwi lately, YUM! You can always pump up cereals, yogourts, and fruit…
  • Thank you! Well it's not visible now. I feel a little uncomfortable, but when my oldest asked to do yoga tonight, I couldn't say no...it felt good to do it. I took it easy and nothing bad happened...can't live in fear, right? ... We'll see what happens; I keep updating!

  • Ha that beautiful smile says it all! Way to go!
  • Gatineau, though I'm a Nova Scotia girl at heart. :)
  • WOW girl you are doing amazingly well! Keep self-praising; you deserve it, and keep on living a healthy lifestyle. Great work! :)
  • The trick for me was finding things I loved. I find I really enjoy going to the gym. I do 30 minutes on the stationary bike while I watch tv...silly shows I'd never watch at home that let my mind go blank. It's relaxing, and I burn a bunch of calories. Yoga is my newest passion...I practice every day, and am teaching my…
  • I echo the other saying it's best to focus on the healthy lifestyle bit when responding to other's comments. It's just SMART to eat well, exercise, etc. Losing the weight is just a happy side effect of changing your lifestyle to take better care of yourself. Lol I always get good reactions with that, and it tends to make…
  • Thank you; this was great!
  • I won't eat food unless it's delicious! In my mind, food is best when it's kept simple. Lots of fresh fruits and veggies, whole-grain breads, and just making better choices, like whole wheat or multigrain pasta, leaner proteins, and plenty of good snacks in between to keep you feeling satiated. Please feel free to friend…
  • Wow, what a positive, uplifting, joyful post! Congratulations, and keep going! The results only keep getting better. You're doing a wonderful thing for yourself and your daughter! :)
  • I use my diary to help me figure out what I CAN eat! I share it because I know I enjoy getting ideas from others...also I'm proud of how hard I'm working...AND I know I'm human (and therefore fallible). So there it is for me... :)
  • I wanna go too!
  • We do pizza on Fridays, too! My pizza is all about healthy crust, lots of veggies, and minimal cheese. YUM! Tastes great and no guilt!
  • Rock on, man! Not only have you figured out what works for you, but it sounds like you've got a fantastic attitude. :) Your progress is apparent not only in your physique, but in your words! Congrats and keep taking care of yourself. :)
  • The calories burned could have been off?
  • It's all about the fruits and vegetables for me...if I don't eat a whole bunch, my energy dips. So I make smoothies with berries and bananas often, and have fruit with every snack. I even put apples in my sandwiches! :) Guess it's all about what each individual body needs...I hope you find out what it is for you very soon!…
  • Hm interesting...so time seems to be a really important thing. And like you, I eliminated a bunch of stuff too...not so much for weight loss, but for overall health. I no longer crave sweets, which is amazing for me...cake, pie or cookies was a part of every single day for me. Keep it up, Lorri! I know what you mean about…
  • YEAH! It's like the better foods are...fixing something that was broken by all the crap I was eating! For me, it's probably the best reward of this whole experience...learning what food is supposed to do for me. Haha thanks for letting me know I'm not alone! :)
  • Lol I could have written this! :) Eating is so comforting...but the trick for me has been to realize that it doesn't really matter what I'm eating...so I crab a banana or some rice cakes with peanut butter, and drink some tea. I simply don't keep junk food in my house anymore; that helps a lot! Good luck; you're not alone!
  • Mmmm sounds really good!
  • Oh wow I really want a sweet potato right now..! :)
  • I exercise every day because I just feel better when I do! I seem to just naturally eat better, drink more water, and sleep better when I get my exercise in. I also have more energy and feel happier! The thing that keeps me going is variety. I do the gym as often as I can, but if I'm at home I love switching it up between…
  • WOW amazing results! GREAT work! :)
  • I looked at it out of curiosity, but knew it wasn't for me - I try to eat a lot of protein in the morning as it keeps me fuller longer and really fuels my day.
  • Why do you HAVE to lose 3lbs/week? That seems like a goal to bring disappointment; it's too tough on your body unless you're very heavy. Why not make the goal to be healthier, start a better lifestyle? Be easy on yourself and celebrate the small victories! You're Mom to a very little one; that's job enough haha! Anything…
  • Amazing; congrats! Keep up the fantastic work. :)
  • I hear you! It's amazing...I feel like throwing up if I eat CAKE now! I used to eat cake, cookies or pie every day...now I don't even think of it, and all that sweetness makes me feel sick for hours afterward. Weird.
  • Hey just noticed your daily caloric intake went from 1,700 to 4,000...how come?
  • Hi there! I have to echo the others saying you're not eating enough! Your body won't lose it if it thinks it's starving... I'll make a couple suggestions: I noticed you're not eating protein in the morning. Adding andegg or peanut butter to your morning meal does a lot to boost your energy, and it'll start your calories…
  • HAHAHAHA yessss this made me laugh! :)
