My family, too. :) My Dad and brother are bipolar, and anxiety, depression, OCD, ADD...that all runs rampant on both sides of the family! For me, honestly? Yoga. Seriously changed my life. I do it 6 days a week and try to incorporate meditation and the spiritual side too. And yep, if all else fails, there's meds.

I kinda feel like barfing, but hey! Congrats! :)

WOW what a huge difference! Love the basketball in the pants...really shows how much room your old waistband has! Keep it up!

YES! Good for you!
-
Hahaha awesome! What'll you watch next?
-
Not true! ;) Just sayin'.

The most difficult part for me is that it's NOT IN MY NATURE to live this lifestyle! Haha seriously, I would much rather sit on the couch, EAT, and watch tv than work out and not eat. *sigh* It's a constant thing, reminding myself I should get up and move and make healthier choices. I'm inherently lazy, what can I say.…

Haha thank you! I eat what I love; I'm just smart about it. I used to be 60lbs heavier; I know the consequences of overdoing the treats...but the consequences of not having treats are worse...I get discouraged and eventually give up! So, when I feel like eating a brownie, I DO! :)

Prince last month in Ottawa. No contest. :)

If you feel you won't be taken seriously at your regular doctor, go to another, or to a clinic. Do what you have to do to take care of yourself! Only you can do this, and despite how you feel, you CAN do it. :) I've been there, and the best gift I've given myself is to accept my illness and know when to get help. You DO…

Thank you for bringing this happiness into my life.

This is great! Thank you!

Hehe maybe they didn't have anything nice to say! ;)

Ugh I know how you feel...but it's not just how much you're eating, it's WHAT you're eating. No judgement whatsoever (my diary shows my love for cakes and cookies - having a hard time with that!), but without being very consistent with healthy eating, you won't see results. Where I can't stay away from cakes and cookies,…

HAHA RoadDog you always make me laugh!

My complexion's cleared up, and I never find myself longing for somedown-time like I used to. I just have energy to GO!
-
Nope, not stupid! I was up between 150 and 165 for a loooong time, and when I lost all the weight, there was a long transition period where I didn't like the attention I got, I felt at odds with the new attitude people had towards me, and I just wasn't USED to the way I looked in the mirror! For me, focusing on how much…

It took me years to love yoga! The first few times I tried it, the breathing, the holding poses...the PATIENCE it took...it just wasn't for me! I found it frustrating. I think I did it "right" this time, and found a DVD I really liked, that incorporated a lot of movement along with the basic poses. From there I tried other…

Sounds amazing; I'll be trying it! How many servings does the recipe make?

Ha I know...and bananas are full of sugar! The way I look at it is that it's all about balance...at least you're eating blueberries, which are high in antioxidents and have a bunch of nutritional benefits, instead of some other processed, high-carb food. Balance. Om. :)

ps: I go to an all-women's gym where "respectful" attire is mandatory...sleeves are a must!
-
This is tough on me...I'm one of those "skinny girls" at the gym...and I work my *kitten* off for it! I'm a pretty shy person, so it's painful to see those "why are YOU here" looks? I get disdainful comments from friends, too, who look at me and don't think I need to work out. 5 years ago, I was 50 pounds heavier. I'm in…

Awesome; thank you for posting this!

Yoga! I do an hour every day at home and attend a 1.5-hour class once a week. It's a wholistic practice, benefitting way moe than jus the physical body, and all you need is a mat, and a dvd to start you off. Once I knew the basic poses, I bought magazines and attended a few classes to learn more, and eventually developed…

I've not tried this specific recipe, but have a similar one that I ADORE. I love pancakes to start, but make them more savory and flavorful, and I'm a happy girl! :) Thanks for posting this one!

Herbal teas - ginger, pepperment, lemon, cranberry, orange...citrus is great. Add a good dollop of honey for some yummy, healthy, cold-fighting sweetness. Orange juice, hot soups, warmth, and comfort will do you a lot of good. Throw a good, long, hot bath in there at least once a day, and include lots of fruits and veggies…

I only have her Yoga Meltdown DVD but LOVE it and use it often!

I'm a HUGE snacker...I used to eat for so many reasons: boredom, any type of emotion (lol!), or simply because it was there! I'd see the box of cinnamon toast crunch, pick it up and munch while I contemplated what to cook for dinner, and didn't think anything of it. Logging forces me to be cognizant of everything I eat,…
