  • Yes, eating one of those burgers and still staying under is great. And like you said, a splurge every now and then is fine, especially if you still come under calorie, so good work! One question, does that burger taste as good as it looks because I see that commercial non-stop?
  • bumping 1 more time since I posted this so early in the AM. hopefully some of you guys will sign up and join me :)

  • I bought Silk's Almond Milk because the store didn't have my normal milk: Silk Vanilla Soy and I didn't like the flavor. I might try another brand or the Silk Vanilla Almond Milk instead, but for now I'm sticking with Silk Vanilla Soy, its my favorite. :)
  • Stouffer's French Bread Pepperoni Pizza & DiGiorno Classic Thin Crust Pepperoni. Yum.

  • how's everyone doing in their course(s)? I love Nutrition for Health Promotion & Disease Prevention so far. I can't believe we are at Week 5 already. I'm getting used to the format for the Nutrition & Physical Activity course since its a little different than the first one, but all in all I am so happy that I took…

  • automobile tire since my last weigh in, hoping by now its the average amount of pizza a person in the US eats per year. :) fun thread!
  • Amazing transformation. Keep up the great work. Nothing like a doctor's visit to help put things into perspective for you. I know I have had a couple scary doctor's visits where diabetes was mentioned that made me re-examine my diet and exercise. Again, great job!
  • Mind-blowing transformation! And to think it took one year! Hard work, dedication and commitment really do pay off. I hope to share my own success story around this time next year. This is truly inspiring. Thank you for sharing your story and your journey with us. :)
  • 8-10 glasses a day.
  • I started my journey the beginning of this month and I am just starting to feel like I've gotten my meals & diet under control. I don't disagree with having a cheat day, whatever works for you...by all means go for it! As for me, I wouldn't be able to handle having a cheat day at the moment because I fear I would binge.…
  • lunch: pasta w/ ground turkey breast & tomato sauce. green beans. and can't forget my cheese!
  • i connect with the coolest people on MFP! :flowerforyou: Excellent follow-up. I'm am guilty of that as well, thinking I am "too fat" to do certain things & to go certain places and yes it is extremely psychologically damaging because you feel stuck in a place waiting for your life to began. that is no way to live.…

  • fatikinis are bikinis for fat people. that simple. if a woman is a size 24 and is still comfortable & confident wearing a bikini at the public pool, then more power to her. if you are overweight and NEVER would wear a bikini until you are a certain size, then that is your personal choice. my problem is when overweight…

  • I am in the exact same boat as the OP. I am doing really well during the day, but I have a hard time getting to sleep at night and felt the urge to snack, snack, snack. Some of the things that I have been doing is drinking tea after dinner. Its helps to calm my cravings. Also, before I submit my food diary for the day, I…
  • I was playing around on different websites to research different calorie calculators and I found one that calculates your BMI, i was classified as Obese Stage III, the highest damn thing. I did feel really bad seeing it, but I didn't feel discouraged, instead I feel more encouraged than ever to stick to my weight…
  • great work. i felt the same exact feeling after enjoying a beer. it had been weeks since i had alcohol but i incorporated something i enjoyed into my healthy eating. before i woulda felt guilty but instead i felt empowered. :)
  • the easiest simplest thing i do with chicken breast is season them with salt & pepper, chop and add garlic, onions, any herbs of your choice, coat in olive oil. just enough olive oil to lightly coat the chicken, and then i bake it in a baking pan. the chicken comes out flavorful and juicy. it takes no time to bake and it…
  • thanks for the info. to anyone out there who is not sure about taking a course via coursera, i encourage you to try it out. so much valuable information!
  • I've watched the first 4 or so videos of the Week 1 and I love this! I am really learning a lot of about food and nutrition already. I've been taking notes like I am back in college! So much great information. After learning about the different types of fats, I instantly came to my food diary here to reflect on my numbers.…
  • A salad of : Salad greens Pouch of sunkist tuna Salad dressing Lil cheese Carrots Sometimes I'll add turkey bacon bits.
  • I personally weigh in once every 2 weeks because previously I would weigh in daily and allow a gain to RUIN my day. I feel liberated from the scale now. But I believe if people need to weigh in how ever much they want. For some people weighing in daily actually keeps them on track, for me it does just the opposite. So…
  • I havent had fast food in about a month. I used to eat fast food (mostly McDonalds & Wawa subs) 5-6x a week. As of right now, I am early in my weight loss journey and its just something that I don't want to eat. Cooking and preparing my own food is working for me just fine at the moment. I know that I will eventually eat…
  • I LOVE CHEESE and I still eat it everyday. I just make sure to use the appropriate portion. I buy Kraft Shredded Cheddar, the regular stuff, not the fat free, and follow the 1/4c serving size or less when I add it to my meal. So for me, portion control has afforded me the opportunity to still enjoy my cheese :)
  • The fact that a "thigh gap" is now indicative of being skinny is pretty disturbing. It sounds like an unrealistic goal for women who happen to carry their weight in their hips and thighs. Based on their body shape I am sure some women would have to be severely underweight to "achieve" this new sacred goal. NOT TO MENTION,…

  • Nope, I got that point. Didn't miss that at all. But my opinion on this subject seems to be the unpopular one so I am just going to have to agree to disagree with some of you folks. ::flutters away:: but if there are ppl out there who believe a fat person at the gym is just ummm a fat person at the gym and not some kind of…
