I just ate cool ranch doritos

I have been working on eating healthier and trying to lose weight for a little over a week now. I know, not long, but the latest and hopefully most successful of any of my attempts. Anyways, I just ate a single serve bag of cool ranch doritos because I'm super stressed here at work. First time in a week that I have let anything get to me enough to succomb to emotional/bored eating.

There's something different about today's incident though. Afterwards, I don't have that feeling of guilt that I usually do when I eat something that is "unhealthy". I'm not beating myself up for eating chips. I went into my diary and made room for them calorie-wise before I ate them. And while I know that I need to find some ways to cope and eventually not do the emotional/bored eating thing - I'm gonna say... WINNING!

I thought this was gonna be another "Boo hoo, I ate something bad for me today" type of threads...VERY impressed to see this is not the case!

    Kudos! :drinker:

Isn't that just great? This is why I love logging. It takes away any question about what I can and can't eat for the day.
Good luck with your fitness goals!

I avoided opening this thread for a while because I assumed you were going to absolutely freak over 250 calories. It's great that you are using the MFP food diary tool to manage your food intake. Unexpected things will happen and just continue to do your best to work around them, either by adjusting your food for the day or moving more. Well done!

    :drinker: Way to go!

BTW ... I don't deprive myself of food, of any type anymore. It always made me fail. I, like you, make 'room' for it in my daily planning and don't let it consume me.

Yes you can put this in the WINNING column

Good for you! as long as you stayed within the calories goal who cares. I fight bored eating at work almost everyday. Thanks for not beating yourself up.

Good for you! I have been losing without eliminating any favourite foods too. When the guilt is gone so is the feeling that you "failed".
