If I were you I would continue to try to lose weight at a small defecit (like 250 cals/day- .5 lb per week). Because of your situation, some days may be better than others, but at least you're still putting in the effort. Slow progress is better than no progress and you'll thank yourself in the end for sticking to it.

One medium sized avocado (100g of the edible portion) has less than 15g of fat...

It's easy to eat like s*** on any diet. Even easier to criticize someone else's diet just because it's different from yours.

Not only are my boobs smaller (went from busting out of a 36 DD to barely filling a 34 C), but the skin is stretched out :( It's not BAD, but you can definitely tell that they used to be big. I'm thinking about plastic surgery when this is all said and done. Just to tighten up the skin, and if they get any smaller I may or…

Katy Perry for sure!

I was going to say baby carrots :(

Who cares? Honestly. As long as we're all trying to make a difference its better than the guy over there eating all of the bacon.

I ordered my Fitbit One directly from Fitbit (just 2 weeks ago) and got it in less than a week. I was pretty skeptical about it but decided to give it a shot and it's really awesome!! I would definitely recommend getting one.

As long as you're not replacing protein with those sugars, I don't see a problem.

Since you're only 5 lbs away from your goal, you probably should eat at TDEE -15%. That being said, I wouldn't add all of your calories at once. That big of a difference so quickly may cause an unwanted gain. Slowly make your way up from 1380 to your TDEE -15% (1762). Also, for me, weight loss happened a lot faster when I…
-
What I did (and I've just started using the TDEE method) is calculated my TDEE at sedentary and subtracted 15% (because I'm not far from my goal). Then I log my workouts and eat those calories back. I did this because my workouts vary greatly from day to day. So I'm using a combination of the MFP method and TDEE.

Thanks! I say everyday but with our work schedule it will probably balance out to 3 times during the work week. Literally laughed out loud at this. I sometimes forget that the rest of the world doesn't speak Army. Just my boss haha.

I think you're on the right track. I would go back and re-calculate with your new weight.

Try Rudi's Organic Sunshine seeded bread. There is also Ezekiel sprouted grain bread. They're both found in the frozen section. Seems strange, but they are so yummy. ETA: I know you asked for replacements, but these are just "healthier" breads. Assuming you're a white-bread eater, of course.

I have a border collie and a lab mix... they LOVE to run! Some nights when I get home from work they will stand at the front door, cry, and pull at the "running leash"!

Just because you have a good pair of shoes does not mean it is a good pair for you! A very common misconception I've heard is: "[insert shoe brand] makes shoes for people with high arches." Yes, they do, but they also make other types of shoes. What I'm trying to get at is this: don't go solely by brand! Get fitted at a…

Same. I went from being anorexic, to bulimic, and back. Well, at some point I royally ****ed my metabolism and gained about 50 lbs that I held onto for the past 5 years (yo-yo-ing between fad lose-weight-overnight diets, over-eating, and purging). Finally, more than 8 years later, I am healthy. It took a while, but…

Map my run has some great training plans for all levels (from beginner to veteran). The plans build your mileage and speed fairly slowly, but effectively.

Correct! I used to eat lean cuisines until I found out how bad they actually are. Seriously, look into it. Instead, if I need something quick for lunch, I will get an Amy's meal. They're (mostly) organic, non-GMO, have no preservatives, no MSG, no trans fat, basically, just deliciousness.
-
For me it was pretty quick. I saw a difference on the scale in a matter of about two weeks. I instantly felt better after upping my calories.
-
I wish I could still eat like that! I tried to hit 3500 yesterday and came in at about 2400. That's including chocolate and wine! I was about 1700 under for last week. :/ Probably why I'm feeling so famished today. My biggest problem is that once I see I have eaten 2000 (even if I'm only netting 500) something in my mind…

Epros, I just want to say that I'm glad we're friends because you are, by far, one of the most supportive people I know on MFP!
-
The reason I haven't, and probably won't, switch to TDEE -10% is because my burn varies so much, some days I burn 2000 calories and some days 500. So I just do BMR + exercise on a day by day basis. I think it evens out.
-
You can custom set your daily calorie goal. My BMR is just under 1500 so that's what I have my net set to. Since I made the change from 1200 to 1500, I've had more consistent weight loss (about 1lb per week).
-
I know its frowned upon, but I generally weight myself everyday. For me, it helps keep track of my ups and downs. Because I know that a 3lb fluctuation from one day to the next isn't fat gain, I can do this and stay sane. I'd say try it for a week or two and see how you feel. Also, don't rely too much on the number on the…
-
This exactly for me. I burned more than 5000 calories this week running, so I'd be a very sad panda if I only ate 1200 calories a day!

Go to a good running store and get yourself fitted for some proper running shoes. It's going to be an investment, but it'll be worth it. Shin splints are very commonly caused by wearing the wrong type of shoes.

I love your profile picture! My friend and I are running a marathon in June and we want shirts with that quote!
