  • 1) Go grocery shopping 2) Eat well, drink lots o' water 3) Probably pull an all-nighter working on mid-terms - no bad snacking! 4) Get ahead with school so that I can be free this weekend
  • How do you like P90X? I'm thinking about borrowing it from my friend. I've heard it might be tough on the joints, and I have a bad knee - do you think it would be an issue? Thanks!
  • 1.) Bask in the glory of having just bought size 6 jeans. I was probably a size 14/16 before, but only wore yoga pants for years so I wouldn't really know. I have NEVER worn a size 6! 2.) Keep my calorie count low in preparation for my friend's birthday party this Friday. 3.) Lots o' water! 4.) Squeeze in another long walk…
  • Should I ask what happened, GSXR? Today I will: 1) Drink only water, tea, and coffee 2) Get ahead on my schoolwork while not snacking like crazy 3) Get in 2 long walks with the pup 4) Eat well 5) Buy and install a mailbox!
  • 1.) Lift heavy moving boxes, put back down, repeat :) 2.) Eat well 3.) Limit myself to 1 beer at movie night, if any
  • -Drink only water and coffee -Get another long dog walk in -Do 50 crunches, 50 jumping jacks minimum -PACK!
  • Hello! I'm a full time student employed full time at a cycling manufacturer and distributor. I've lost 70 lbs so far, mainly by limiting my processed carb intake and eating "cleaner". I'm big into long distancing bike touring and hiking, but I'd like to focus more on running and weight lifting - things I can do without…
  • Today I'm closing on my first home purchase! This probably means take-out, but I'll be sure to oder a salad. My fiance and I will also be splitting a Dogfish Head Worldwide Stout we've been aging since New Years 2011 (yes, it's an age-able beer). I plan on otherwise avoiding processed carbs today, and drinking tons of…
  • I commute to work several times a week via bike. I also love going on rides, and tour when I can find the time (I go to school full time as well as work full time). Right now I'm planning my ~400 mile tour from DC to PA that I'm taking the last week of July. So pumped!

  • Glad to hear your exploring cycling! If you'd like a rigorous workout, find some hills in your area and hit them :) I guarantee hill climbing will make you sweat! Plus you get the fun of descending like a bat out of hell. If you'd like to compare yourself to others on the same terrain, try out Strava. It's a free app you…
  • This calculator doesn't take into account that your wrist size is determined to a great degree by your body fat percentage. My fingers didn't touch when I wrapped them around my wrist when I was fat, and now my fingers overlap (I've lost 65 lbs). It's because my wrists are less fat, not because I have magically gone from a…
  • Replying because I want to watch the videos after work - might be my next Fat Doctor :)
  • Day 1 and I LOVE this competition. I can say that I ran 2 miles I probably wouldn't have done otherwise in order to stay competitive. Great idea, thanks for setting this up!
  • Personally, when I cut out processed carbs and upped my protein intake my craving substantially subsided.
  • Signed up with Moves!
  • I've lost about 55 lbs in the last 8 months or so. 20 lbs to my goal of 145.
  • I'm 5'5". Starting from 220 lbs my 1st goal weight is 145 lbs. I'm currently around 165. When I get there, I'll reassess if I should lose more or maintain.
  • I've also been in 3 continuous challenges - the camaraderie has been really helpful and the mini-goals set for a couple months at a time have been a great motivation! I'm officially down 52 lbs since I started my weight loss journey - 42 of those lbs due to these groups! My ultimate goal of a healthy BMI is only 23 lbs…
  • Replying so I can make a shopping list later :)
  • Meat. Eggs. Veggies. Coffee. Everyday. :)
  • This week I am determined to finally get down into the 160's (77kgs or less). I will do so by avoiding processed carbs, upping my exercise (add 2 gym workouts to my 2 weekly gym classes), and eating salads with protein for at least one meal a day.
  • Holiday themed challenges sound awesome! Count me in!
  • If you're too busy and tired for exercise, maybe you could focus on diet? I've lost pretty much all of my weight through diet change alone. Good luck with the wedding stuff!
  • Got engaged on our 5 year anniversary, November 15th. We're thinking late spring/summer/early fall 2015. We haven't planned ANYTHING yet. Jeez. We don't even know if we're going to have a wedding, or elope and have a local reception. Or maybe just get married at the court house? Is anyone else thinking about a…
  • I've tried the chocolate PB2. It's probably different than you'd expect, not as thick as peanut butter and definitely more bitter, but I absolutely love it on celery. I'm waiting for it to go on sale again and I'm going to stock up.
  • I'm down about 50 lbs (10 lbs before I started MFP). Yesterday I donated 12" of my hair, so that's a pretty big change.
  • I recently dropped into the "overweight" BMI category myself. ~30 more lbs before I'm into the "normal" range. Can't wait!
  • I'm in the same boat. On a recent shopping trip I unexpectedly fit into a pair of size 10 jeans (after wearing yoga pants exclusively for a couple of years). I'm really looking forward to 8's. Maybe even 6's?!
  • I'm taking a Spring semester class that will focus on both cardio and weight lifting. I'm super pumped about increasing my endurance and learning how to lift heavy. Pretty much four months, twice a week. I'm still scared, though, because I used to FEAR gym classes in high/middle school.
  • Bacon, eggs and veggies (usually asparagus, red pepper, onions, mushrooms). Every morning. For some reason, I never tire of it. Down 45 lbs from my highest.
