  • It's all about portion control. A little bit of any meat is fine. If it is red meat, try to get leaner cuts and try to limit it to a few days a week. I don't eat meat myself, but I cook for my family too. I have seafood Monday's, poultry Tuesdays, red meat Wednesdays, etc...

  • I've got one of those neighbors too. The funny thing was, when my husband had a heart attack, that was the neighbor who came over while we were in the hospital and mowed our lawn for us. As irritating as we sometimes found them, they turned out to be the most help when we needed it.

  • Stress eater here too :ohwell: I had to learn other ways to deal with it. Now I put on my walking shoes and stomp the pavement. I've gotten to meet a lot of my neighbors this way too.

  • 5'4" 280ish 178 lbs. 156 lb
  • I was standing in line at the bank yesterday when I heard a voice behind me say "Wow, you have great legs! Are you a runner?". I glanced behind me to see the "legs" this guy was talking to. It was me :blushing: I can't tell you the last time anyone said I had a great anything, except maybe personality
  • Wow!! Truly Amazing. You've just made every excuse I've ever used seem laughable.
  • Looks to me like you're already beautiful inside and out, but at least you can be healthier when your daughter gets her degree.
  • The Good Surprises 1. I agree with the always cold part, but the flip side of that is that I'm not always sweating. I was always so embarrassed because it would only be 60 degree's out and I'd be sweating my a** off. And I live in Texas so my a/c bill in the summer was outrageous. 2. I can sit in any chair that I want, I…
  • Great job!!! Keep it up and you'll keep amazing yourself with what you can achieve.
  • Well, I haven't reached skinny yet, but I'm no longer morbidly obese. And yes, it is so worth it. I told myself for years that I'd rather be happy. Problem was, I wasn't happy. I was unhealthy, embarrassed, depressed and always so tired. Not to mention the fact that I'm pretty sure I was making my doctors house payments…
  • You can add me also. I have lost 118 lbs so far. I only have about 35 lbs to go, but still plan on sticking around and making this a lifelong habit even after I reach my goal. I will always need the support and love to give it in return. :drinker:
  • So true. I tried all the pills, shakes and fad diets out there; they never worked. I finally just got serious and started eating healthy and exercising daily. I've now lost 113 lbs. I went from 279 lbs to 163. I still have 38 lbs to go, but I know I'll get there if I just stay on track. MFP has been a Godsend to me. It…
  • I hope I'm doing this right. I've never posted pics before
  • Don't give up!! 1-2 lbs a week is perfectly normal (and healthy). It's also normal for your weight to fluctuate a lb or two, even from hour to hour. When I first started losing weight, nobody seemed to notice mine either. It was very discouraging, but I refused to let it stop me. Now I've lost over 100 lbs, and everybody…
  • I think that probably describes most of us women on here  I am 42, depressive, compulsive overeater, gain weight fast but lose it very slowly. Not only do I have premenstrual cravings, but my husbands says I get kind of witchy :noway: I have about 45 lbs left to lose. Please feel free to add me if you like.
  • I only weigh in once a month. I was determined that this time I wasn't going to focus on the scales, but on eating healthy and exercise and just let the weight loss be a side note. I would always get so discouraged when I didn't lose what I thought I should and then I'd give up.

  • I have been on a 1200 calorie diet for 1 yr. I've lost 107 lbs. I still have 49 to go. It just depends on how many calories you burn a day and how fast you want to lose the weight. If you are a very active person, you could eat more calories and still lose.
  • When I started last year, I had to lose 150 lbs. I didn't have a clue where to start, so I just followed my fitness pal's guideline as far as calories, carbs, protein, etc.... I also added in cario exercise. I've lost over 100 lbs. It took awhile (as it's supposed to). After all, this is supposed to be a lifestyle change,…
  • I know this sounds silly, but make sure you're breathing. I was getting headaches when I worked out too, and I figured out I was holding my breath.
  • I also allow myself a break once a week. I've lost over 100 lbs and I knew there was no way I could do it if I tried to do the impossible (deny myself everything I craved all the time). So when I start craving something during the week, it makes it so much easier to tell myself "not until Saturday" rather than tell myself…
