You look fantastic! Brilliant results, congratulations :)

You look awesome! Eating clean or anything specific diet wise?
-
Hey Im in a pretty similar situation starting weight wise and such :) Im in the UK though so you might prefer someone in a similar time zone to you. You made amazing progress with a 50lb loss and if your lowest weight was 215 then even 230 from 265 initially is a MASSIVE achievement! Food addiction is the worst kind, I…

I think its so easy for us all to assume that we are all in this to lose weight so thank you for sharing your story. You look absolutely stunning on the photos of you at your current weight! I only wish my auntie wasn't so far gone to the disease so that she could see how beautiful she too could look.

Wow, seriously inspirational. Weights is my next step definitely!

Just finishing my 6th week tomorrow. Feel free to add me! In response to the question above, which leg lifts do you mean?
-
To get back to the title of the post then yes it probably is a myth. Unless I only want to eat less than 1200kcal a day for the rest of my life though then I dont imagine I would keep it off. Also the willpower required is tremendous, much more likely to fall of the wagon so to speak if you feel deprived.

Thanks for all the replies. Im going to try and eat cleaner and i'll have a look at my calories and lower my activity level and then recalculate. As much as I want to lose the weight I am not totally going to give up everything I like all of the time, past experience has shown that its just likely to make me binge and i…

I'm from Blackpool. Anyone stupid enough to try the Tough Mudder North West this year? Need to shift the pounds and up the strength by then :)
-
The arm walk move, how does that work? I'm an Insanity student at the moment but need to work on my upper body strength for Tough Mudder training
-
^^this. I know it's not always possible but I do try to, either that or I always go for the smallest option or a diet soda (I know they are the work of the devil but I still think the odd one is better than 15tbsp of sugar)
-
I agree with the above post, plenty of calcium! Also plenty of folic acid rich foods, broccoli, brussel sprouts, spinach, asparagus, peas and brown rice are all sources :)
-
I dont think MFP ever recommends you eat less than 1200 calories so i imagine that is what they are aiming for you eating :)
-
I LOVE this reply!

I lost 13lb in 2 weeks on Slim-Fast then started Insanity in combination with the diet and put 5lb on!!!! Started the IPOARM (I do have a lot to lose and im not forcing it on anyone) so this week have been eating more (still exercising) and lost the 5lb so far and dont weigh in until Sunday. Dont lose heart, it is the best…

Bumping for later. Sounds good! Thanks for posting.

Are you exercising enough to fill in the deficit? Your TDEE (which i assume you calculated) is to maintain weight, TDEE - 20% gives weight loss anymore not recommended, assuming by your stats you arent morbidly obese? Then to lose 1lb per week you need to be in deficit of 3500 calories. If your calorie deficit from TDEE -…

You look like a totally different person, thats amazing. Your cycle sounds exactly the same as mine, stuff my face, feel bad, stuff my face again. Fantastic achievement!

Im doing the North West tough mudder when the time comes (think its Oct, cant sign up yet) got a 10K in May though so trying to get fitter for that. If you struggle with excuses then I recommend the Zombies, Run! app, on iPhone but pretty sure on other smartphones too. They do the full version and a 5K version but it helps…

Im from the North West. Feel free to add me :)

Bumping keeps the post high up and also allows you to find the post as you commented on it so that you can remember it for later. In the UK there is a similar recipe using a whole chicken breast which you then spread a thin layer of Light Mayo and mix the parmesan with breadcrumbs and sprinkle on top before cooking. You…

Yeah this forum stopped me from coming off track this week as I registered a 5lb gain when i have been sticking to the diet and doing the Insanity workout plan, basically dont go off the scales. Measure yourself with a tape measure and go off that, in my head i know that i look better than at the beginning of the month but…

Some great tips in the above posts. I'm from the UK too and started just after new year, read up on the info regarding TDEE and BMR (just search for it) because its a good place to start to gauge how much exercise you'll need to be doing to form a large enough deficit for loss. Like has already been said, track things. I…

Thats great, i suppose either way it shouldn't matter so long as i reach the deficit each week to coincide with a 2lb loss. :)
-
Or if I do it at 30% deficit on calories, eating 2022 a day (my BMI puts me at obese) I would only need to burn 931 calories from exercise? If i therefore did more exercise than this should I eat the calories back?
-
Ok does this sound about right then. My BMR is 1864 My TDEE (to maintain) is 2889 So 2889/100x20= 578 Therefore eat 2311 calories a day and then to make the rest up its 577 x 7 = 4046 Exercise is therefore 7000 - 4046 = 2954 Insanity I work out to burn about 365 Calories in a workout, maybe slightly less on the Recovery…

Thank you for the replies, they've made me feel much better! I think i might just scrap weighing myself completely for a while as i always get so disheartened when i fluctuate. Will calculate it all tonight to set me up for the coming week :)
-
Im on Day 6 so tomorrow is my day off and so far I have done every day. I plan on doing so for the whole course because its the best way for me to stay motivated (I cant take days off without going to pot) but I know a lot of people that do 3 times a week but complete t curse over a longer period.
-
Amazing! Love the outfit too, thats what I am most excited about, being able to wear whatever I want!

I think for anyone who has had a long term weight issue it'll always be hard. People always tell me its mind over matter and just cut down what you eat but its never been that simple for me. I have a tendency to binge and I doubt that will ever fully go away but I have to learn to control it, i cant just cut out what i…
