Help!

Last year I lost 4 stone using weight loss resources & then My Fitness Pal. I've lost my way over Christmas & have gained nearly a stone, I'm desperate not to put it all back on again (which I always seem too)
I can't seem to motivate myself to get back in the gym & know that for me is the key! When exercising I don't want to eat as much.
I just wondered if anybody else has trouble keeping weight off, I've still got a good 2 & 1/2 stone to lose & don't want to fail again :-(
Any advice to help me out of my vicious circle would be great & I WILL get back in the gym!!
Thanks xx

Find a friend to go to the gym with you. Or go for a walk, run, anything to get you moving. Once you start up again, keep going. I joined an online fitness challenge on MapMyFitness. This was truly quite motivational. I committed to a goal and this kept me exercising even when I didn't feel like it. (And I have many days like that--ha ha!)
Happy to be your friend on MFP. If that works for you, please feel free to send me an invitation.0 -
Thanks that's a good idea re mapmyfitness I'll have a look at that :-)
I've always used the iPhone app so didn't realise these message boards were on here!! Always nice to have people in the same boat :-)0 -
i would say making your weekly goal of exercise achievable so you dont get overwhelmed. i like to go to the gym monday and tuesday then have a break on wednesday, then go again to the gym thursday and friday and then break again on the weekend. this means that you only really have to do two days before breaking. it is motivating to know that. if this works for you that would be great! all the best0

Also I downloaded an app on the advice of a board member last week but the Zombies, Run! app on iPhone is great. Especially the 5K training one to get started, the only way to progress in the game is to go for a jog, genius for the likes of me!0

More good ideas, thanks :-)
It just baffles me how it's so easy one moment & not the next:-(
Good to get on the message boards & get some much needed support, thanks for your help xx0 -
I think for anyone who has had a long term weight issue it'll always be hard. People always tell me its mind over matter and just cut down what you eat but its never been that simple for me. I have a tendency to binge and I doubt that will ever fully go away but I have to learn to control it, i cant just cut out what i binge on as ultimately its food (not necessarily a specific type).
For me this is about a total life overhaul, I need to get rid of the things that make me reach for the comfort food as well as reducing the amounts I eat as well0 -
Totally agree & that's what I did so well last year & logging on here helped me control my portions which were out of control!!
It needs to become a way of life I think, so here's to us finally cracking it :-)0
