  • Thanks everyone. I figured out how to make it work. Enter the values from the mayonnaise recipe, then save as a My Food. Now my mayonnaise shows up as an ingredient I can use in other recipes :)
  • This sounds delicious! I'm only two weeks in so don't want to partake in anything like that now, but I'm saving this for later down the road ;) Thanks Dan!
  • Thank you all for your replies. I now know I definitely have not been taking enough. Also, now know to look at the ingredients in my supplements. Very sneaky to add sugar. I don't even see the point in adding sugar to a supplement.
  • I've had my Charge HR since Christmas and I don't know what I would do without it now!
  • I did not have such a good experience with my first bone broth making adventure. Darned stuff simmered and simmered all day...nearly twelve hours. In the end it just had a funky flavor I couldn't drink. I was going to try to use it to make beef stew but after trying to drink another mug I ended up throwing it all out. I…
  • sounds delicious! I do the same kind of thing: 14 pepperoni slices arranged on plate, dab of pizza sauce on each one, top with mozzarella. Nuke til melted, sprinkle with parmesan cheese. Tastes like pizza to me!
  • I started back on the LCHF/keto diet on Sunday. I lost almost 30 pounds 2 years ago on a LCHF WOE. I'm having a harder time losing this time around. I am not having that 1-2lb/day loss. I think my off/on two year cycle, as well as pre-menopause may have something to do with that. My diary is open to friends and if you have…
  • Definitely agree. I've been watching Stephanie "the business" person on youtube. She says stress has a huge impact on whether you even become keto adapted. She has been in a state of ketosis for 5 years. She rambles a lot in her videos but she has some EXCELLENT information, and she certainly is inspirational.
  • I love mine! I use butter, co, hwc, vanilla, cocoa powder, a couple drops of EZ sweetz and a pinch of xantham gum. Sometimes I'll also add 1/2 scoop of vanilla protein powder. So creamy...Mine ends up around 16 oz. with about 2 carbs, but totally worth it.
  • Love this ranch dressing! So easy and soooo much better than commercial dressing. http://faithfulnessfarm.blogspot.com/2014/04/how-simple-is-that-ranch-dressing-low.html
  • oh, I forgot! To make it even less carbs, omit the crust. They cook and taste just the same
  • Oh my goodness, Dan! Thank you so much for taking the time to explain this to me! I think I understand it and will be working on changing my recipes to implement this procedure. You've also just made it possible for me to get a better night's sleep as I lay awake some nights agonizing over whether I was truly accurate in…
  • Way to go! It's so awesome when YOU can actually see a difference, especially after such a short time! Keep up the good, hard work!
  • Also, when entering a recipe you can only enter it as number of servings. It would seem the program should be able to total the volume of the recipe in oz, grams, cups and let you decide how many oz, grams or whatever you are going to log for a meal. Or am I putting it in wrong?
  • I wonder why foods you scan yourself don't become "my foods" as well as available on the database? Would make them a lot easier to find if you haven't had it in a while.
  • I do this too. Put a green tea bag in my 24 oz lidded cup with a straw every morning and put in the fridge. I usually drink it around lunch time then refill with water after that. I shoot for to 8-12 cups a day. I probably drink 4-8 cups of coffee a day but I don't count that. I do count the tea, however. Go figure...
  • Pesto is fresh basil, olive oil, minced garlic, lemon juice, parmesan and romano cheese and pine nuts all processed into a lovely spread, paste consistency. you can add this to cream sauces, eggs, soups, sour cream or just dip some celery in it. I swear I lick processor bowl like its frosting! Tons of flavor
  • By popular demand! http://t1dandglutenfree.com/cheesecake-cupcakes sometimes I add a little cinnamon to the crust mixture. You can also try using the flavored sugar free syrups to the cheesecake mixture. I freeze these and take one out while I'm cooking dinner so it can thaw and be ready for me afterwards. Great as a fat…
  • I buy 3 dozen (sometimes 4) eggs every week. I have recently discovered making my own pesto...sooooo yummy! I tried it in my eggs scrambled in butter and I almost thought I had went to heaven!
  • I cook three pounds of bacon every week. I cook it on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. I keep the cooked bacon in a gallon zip lock bag in the fridge to use for breakfast, in salads and on sandwiches made with oopsie rolls. I also make the oopsie rolls and freeze them individually. Like Dan, I like to make…
  • I got the charge hr for Christmas. I wear it all the time with the exception of taking a shower and charging the battery. Doesn't bother me at all. I love it!
  • I have a ton of low carb recipes on my pinterest site http://www.pinterest.com/melissa968/ Spending the time to prepare foods that will be ready when you are is key
  • https://www.fitbit.com/user/3273NV Charge HR. Looking for friends to help motivate and challenge each other
  • A few stores like Kohl's and Target get a handful they can sell every day. Got mine from kohl's :)
  • Bought the Charge HR for myself for Christmas. My first tracker. //www.fitbit.com/user/3273NV
  • Hi Jan! Great post! I, too, love keto/low carb and all its benefits. Some people in my family think I'm killing myself by eating so much fat but I put them all to shame this week. My cholesterol has always been high (I believe heredity has a lot to do with it). Mine was 291 and the dr put me on statin drugs to lower it.…
  • That is so awesome! I'm having mine done on Monday. Hope they are as good as yours!
  • Thank you for your input. That calculator utilizes what kind of eating plan you're on but must still have some kind of glitch in it. I'll just stick with what I've been doing with concentrating on hitting my fat, protein and carb marks.
  • Thank you all for your input. I'm thinking that calculator was wrong even though it considers what kind of eating plan you are on.
