  • "This is why plans like Nutrisystem and even Weight Watchers failed for me in the past... I could lose the weight by eating their prepackaged foods, and: A while back someone made a comment on "My Home" thread about eating real food: I think that's why most diets fail (Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig, Nutrisystem, etc.)" I am…
  • I'm with you! It also takes longer for us ladies to loose the weight! My husband just says "I need to lose 5 lbs" and voila, 5 lbs gone lol.
  • I can see a possible problem first thing in the morning. Three pieces of fruit is a lot. Fruit turns to sugar. I would change that to a protein. You will feel full longer and better for you. You need more veggies in your day. I know it is CICO but sometimes switching up WHAT you eat really does make a difference.
  • Nothing at all to be ashamed about!! I calculate it in my day. I love to socialize and love my beer and wine. I walk alot and/or exercise to 'earn' my drink!
  • that's what I figured. Thanks
  • congratulations! Thanks for sharing your inspirational story! We all have struggles and it is so nice to have the support. You can do this!! Look how far you have come and like you said, you feel so much better. That should be motivation to continue this journey. It is not a race and will take time, but will be so worth it…
  • Thank you Rabbitjb. I read all your links and I appreciate your research. Will definately be researching further!!
  • I am not a doctor, nor do I play one on MFP (despite what you may think). ;) How is your nutrition? Are you eating enough (not sure if you are here to lose weight, just to track calories/macros, or what)? Are you hydrated? Are you sleeping well? Although I am not (yet) menopausal, I understand that some of the symptoms…
  • My two favourite cookbooks and websites are: skinnytaste.com and The Looney Spoons! They are great, easy, delicious "favourites" just lightened up. I look through both books or online and make my grocery list for the week.
  • OK, so LeanButNotM, how do you suggest I get better? I have major menopause issues, which include, zero energy. When I go to ride my bike I get dizzy, heart starts to flutter and I have to stop, then I throw up. I have tried everything for the past two years to get help with all these issues. Naturopath seems to have…
  • Naturopathy is a very great source of information and good, clean eating and supplements. Pretty much what we are all looking for on MFP, isn't it? But as in all things in life, to each his own. No need to be insulting. And yes, Cherimoose, I can see that now.... no worries, I have thick skin.
  • Good for you! Wish I could join you but I would be one grumpy girl! I am trying to cut it out during the week, and just indulging on the weekend. So far so good!
  • Thanks all for the feedback, suggestions and doctor bashing lol. That was not my question, but funny how quickly everyone gets on their high-horse. lol In answer to my original question, I guess no one here is suffering from menopause symptoms and adrenal fatigue like me. I will still take the advice of my Doctor,…
  • yes and that is who did the saliva testing.
  • I went to my regular doctor, had the blood tests done and the saliva tests done. I am a 53 year old woman in full menopause. AFS therefore in my case is not bunk. THERE IS scientific proof and my Doctor has diagnosed it. Reading a report on the internet vs. my medical doctor. Think I will take her advice over that. Not…
  • Hi, thanks everyone, and yes no McD's near me. I am in an industrial area. I opted for Sushi with green tea and edamame. Filled me up and not bad for my daily totals.
  • Not wierd at all. I miss them too. I don't miss the bloating and food hangover the next day though!
  • I have cheat "meals" every weekend! I look forward to it. I follow weight watchers together with MFP and WW allows for an extra 49 points a week. I use these to have a few coctails on the weekend together with a nice meal out. It is all doable. I just make sure I get in an extra long walk/run or exercise. This is a life…
  • I am happy that I got my days for logging reset! Funny thing is I thought it was 50 something, but went back and looked at the calendar and I had been logging for 69 days. "Technically" logging in for me was that I tracked my food for the day but wrote it in the next day so I was still accountable. It is all about…
  • thanks! I will get a reset because I technically did still log in, just the next day ;)
  • May sound boring but I have been having the same breakfast for months and it fills me and seems like a lot: 12 wholegrain rice crackers with peanut butter and a slice of apple on each with a cup of coffee. 1/2 cup greek yogurt with blueberries and half banana and tsp of pumpkin seeds. It is a lot of food and I nibble while…
  • I enjoy my cocktails and have never given them up while losing weight. I just calculate them into my plan. I also choose low calorie options. Michelob Ultra is a great beer! Very few calories. I also try to 'earn' my drinks. A little extra exercise. For example, I will be at soccer practice for an hour tonight so will…
  • 20 lbs gone; looking 20 years younger! Look great! You should be proud!
  • I have done ten times better since I stopped weighing myself daily! I only weigh in once a week and it is something to look forward to for me. I eat clean and healthy all week and after my weigh in my treat is a bagel. Food still motivates me!
  • I enjoy my drinks! As long as I calculate them and stay within my calories, I still lose!
  • Cuban Lunch Chocolate Bar!!!
  • Congratulations! You should be very proud of yourself! Determination wins!
  • Good to know. I have started with 1 lb per week but was thinking of switching to 1.5. Maybe I should just stay where I am. More manageable?
