I have both, a garmin forerunner 10 and a fitbit flex - the garmin logs specific workouts such as running, cycling etc however the fitbit logs everything. Love being able to see peoples progress and actually speaking to a face but I really don't mind either way, the more connections I have the stronger I feel to move forwards.

Some great tips there, just remember it is a marathon and not a sprint - the extra stress and work that you'll be doing will mean you'll have to eat more anyway. Actually, yes sometimes - especially during the winter months where it's dark and cold. To get over the fear, sometimes I only exercise nearby where I live like running round the block. ...there is something about running 5k/10k into the dark wilderness that gets to me!

Ah! ok, so the goal it sets is already below what I need day-to-day and to ensure I don't burn too fast / pass out / hurt myself it adds the calories back on that I burn extra to ensure a healthy amount of weight loss?
