I Exercise 5 times a week but with the days off split (Mon and Friday), this means that on the weekend I can treat myself to a little more but I am burning most of it off with my workout.

I like Optimum Nutrition casein for hunger control if I can't eat a regular meal. I like Optimum Nutrition Whey for working out. ON has very few carbs or fat, something you have to watch for when buying protein.

Ive noticed that over a longer duration of cycling, say 45 or 60 minutes, the calorie differences burned between a HR of almost 160 and say 140 doesn't amount to a whole lot of difference.

I usually have an O.N, casein protein shake. It keeps me full until lunch and only provides 120 calories.

I have the Polar FT40 as well and love it. If you don't want to wear a chest strap or want to try something a little cheaper MIO makes a touch monitor that you can pick up for around $30. The touch monitors don't offer continuous monitoring like the chest strap version does.

Lots of people are more afraid of the lifetime commitment required to lose weight and keep it off. The quick fixes are more of a hope that they can keep their current lifestyle and lose weight too.
