Started logging and Stronglifts almost 3 weeks ago. I've taken some before picks and plan on taking more every month. Hope to post a before and after in a few months :) thanks for the inspiration!

Not sure, good question...hope you get more posters :)

Good luck Stephanie, you can do it! Your health is the most important thing so keep that as your main priority. Remember the weight didn't come on in a day and it will take time to lose. Slow and steady :)

Welcome Donna! I don't have an inspirational story but I can tell you its possible to meet your goals. I dropped 65 lbs over a year by working out more and logging my meals, used MFP daily and their suggested calorie intake. Unfortunately, I stopped logging and let my eating get out of control, gained 35 pounds back. I'm…

Great job!

Congratulations! Lifestyle changes are the way to go :)

Ohhh, I put post workout hair ideas. While I'm working out and want to keep my curlies, I twist it in a loose bun on top of my head and use "spin pins" to keep it there. I have to wear it up, usually a ponytail or bun because I can't stand hair on my neck when I'm hot. Good luck :)

I feel your pain. Can you braid? Do you like to wear it up? There a lot of great ideas on youtube for updo's that take no time at all to complete :) I like to do a braid that crosses from the top of one side to the bottom of the other and then wrap the extra braid in a bun, it looks great! Or do a twist, leaving the ends…

Congratulations on getting started! My success started with walking as well :) I know you are eager to progress and challenge yourself as you have mentioned running. My suggestion is to continue walking, working towards 30minutes 5-6 days a week forat least 6 weeks before you begin a walk/run routine. This gives your bones…

I'm about at goal weight now and have been using MFP for 1.5 years now. When I first started I was dropping 0.5-1lb a week but there were definitely a few weeks where nothing would happen or I would go up a pound. If you eating well and and sticking with your plan this will just be a short pause and then you will start…

OMG I am crying!! This post made my day. I'm an RN and see/hear ALL kinds of things and this story, true-false-or-otherwise, just had me laughing out loud. I'm glad you took the time to handle your business, your bowels thank you, and I'm sure your "poop-mate" just learned a few very good lessons :)

Bumping for later :)

Yesterday morning while running on traiI beside the canal: I saw my first snake beside the trail, it was brown/black with yellow bands, freaked me eat. And then my boys pointed out another one swimming in the canal :) Also found a salamander in the middle of the trail, he wasn't moving so well, so I helped him closer to…

Great job!! Looking forward to running my own 10K soon :)

Running in the Central Savannah River Area (Augusta, GA)... Most people working in their yards will wave as you run by Humidity is my enemy and running May-September is almost punishment. You have to really want it to get out in the heat/humidity, even early-early in the a.m. I have saved a turtle (put it back in the grass…

Bump to read later, love the comments!!!

Grilled chicken tenderloins, steamed veggies (Kroger brand Italian...zuchinni, cauliflower, lima beans, and carrots), and some Rice-a-roni (I know it's awful for me but it tastes so good and the kids will eat it), and a cup of skim milk :)

Bumping for new input. This sounds like an awesome race, hope you get some good advice and and have a great time!!!

Congratulations on a successful start!! I used the C25K program to get started last year and each day you get your shoes on and head out the door is a success :) Your endurance will increase each week, just remember to keep the pace slow enough to continue...Good luck!!

Yay for you!!!! Way to stay with it and keep working towards your goals and good health! :)

36yo female, 5ft5in, HW: 208, MFP starting weight 203 (Dec 2010), CW 148. I was hoping to see 135 but I may just stay where I am for a while then work on 140 :)
-
I am proud of myself for going to the gym this morning instead of going to back to bed after taking the kiddos to school :) I did some great strength training and even managed a short run afterwards...yay me!

Bring pumpkin muffins, they will travel well and are low cal, less than 100 calories each (no frosting). I got the recipe from here, do a search on pumpkin muffins and you will come up with a hit :)

208, now 144. So glad I finally got it into my head that I COULD do it... I could take control of what I ate, how much, and how often I moved my butt.
-
I lost 50 lbs this year, ran my first 5K, and just felt so much better than I have in a LONG time :) I still want to lose another 10 lbs total but I am strength training and may decide that number is not so important as time goes by. I FEEL good and I want to continue that this coming year by getting stronger and running…

Started the journey one year ago and feel so proud of myself! I eat what I want but now it's in MODERATION and I have finally learned portion control. I started moving my butt, mostly by running (and sometimes walking, sometimes both, lol) 2-3 times a week, and it has paid off with a healthier and fitter me :)
-
One year as of this week! I have lost 55 lbs, finally learned to control my portion size (most days, lol!), and got my butt out the door to start a run/walk program. Looking back I am so proud of my accomplishments and recharged for the year ahead :)
-
Bumping this response, too ;) I just started strenght training and like to see the "format" other people use, looks like I've been leaving some stuff out, lol.

Bumping for later, thanks :)
