Menopause totally messed me up. My metabolism had completely slowed. I'm really struggling to lose 30lbs. Trying to up my exercise and now am logging my food. We don't need as much food now which also is hard.

I had wondered if that bread was worth the money. I will have to go looking for it. I have alot of diabetes in my family and my mom just died from a sudden heart attack so I have to get this 30lbs off. I need to incorporate more protein in my diet so I will give your docs advice a try. Thanks.

I'm 46 and have about 30lbs to lose. I recently lost my mom and aunt both from heart attacks. Both died since february suddenly. I have to lose weight so I can see my 12 year old grow up. I'm also in surgically induced menopause from ov cancer in 2006. Any support is appreciated.

I recently got a vivosmart. Makes me much more aware of my activities. I have to say alot of arm movement throws it off. I can get steps from brushing my dog!!! Anyhow I'm on board and have about 30lbs to lose.

I'm going to start a couch to 5k app on my phone. Going to start on a treadmill until I'm into it more

I have a 10 yr old boy in basketball and I try to walk around during his practices. Its the perfect amount of time and by the time he is done I've burned some good calories. I have 30# to lose and menopause is messing me up. Add me if you'd like! You can do this!

Congrats Shelley! I know when I got married I did a higher protein diet with healthy carbs, fruits and veggies. Your goal is totally reachable by spring. Start walking and eating better and you will have this!

Your post could be mine. I'm 45 and in menopause. I had been logging for 40 days here and gained 2# then lost .5#. Very frustrating. I do findif I go too low on calories my body hangs on to the fat. I tried 900 calories and got nowhere. If I had done this in my 20's weight would of fallen off. I also now know 1400 or more…

Brian..Is it just me or are you trying to be mean? Other people are saying in this thread they don't like to be outside because of heat. You do...great. Don't ram it down my throat because I'm not superman like you!

Heat definitely has to do with it since I'm in Kansas. I have to be at work at 6am during school year so I have to do afternoon/evening workouts. I'm off for summer so hoping I can get into program where I'm comfortable by then. My treadmill is in basement so its cool and I have a tv.

I was hoping once I wasn't so out of shape I could switch to outside! The first day wasn't so bad and I love how you can listen to your own music but I can still hear the prompts to change my speed. I will keep the other version in mind as I progress! Thanks!

I'm newer to the social side of this too but have met some great people who have given me good advice on my lack of good eating. Sometimes you just need someone with fresh eyes to see what you are doing.

I just tried to calibrate it with my 8# weight and it just turns off.

I use my scale on a hardwood floor. I don't know much about fitbits. I was just researching them and I guess you have to input weight number so I guess I really need a new scale. Guess I need to go to bath and body today.
