same boat as you are - did a great job of knocking down the lbs and then slowly let them creep back in... add me and we can keep each other motivated

I still ike wearing my HRM during my weight training as it gives me a good gauge of how hard I am pushing myself - especially during circuit training (as mentioned in the SP article). If I know I am using heavier weights or keeping my rests low between sets, it keeps my heart rate up, which usually means a better burn....…

I used an app on my iPhone called C25K - but when I really was going through it the first time I used the podcasts by Robert Ullrey - they were helpful and it had pretty upbeat music. I'm sure you can google them to find it - but it is also on iTunes. He structured the podcast so it felt like he was running along with you…

I'm also a pretty casual beer drinker (mostly weekends) but always try to make sure to leave room when I know I'm going to be drinking it. Everyone has a few things (or more) that they like to save those calories for. This weekend I'm hosting a Halloween Party which usually involves a lot of beer....so my food diary should…

Well at least you have the internet!! j/k Welcome - and good luck with your goals - this is a GREAT place to meet supportive people and help you hit your goals!

That is awesome. And how good is that feeling once you've made it past that "hump" of the decision and you know you made the right one? It can carry you the rest of the day....good job!

I played yesterday and thought it was great. Didn't feel like a big caloric burn but it took us about 2 hours to play the whole course, so it couldn't have been too bad!

If it's in the Android Market then it is available to all Android phones...no problems there :)

I do my Couch to 5K after I get up and have some water. Then I go to work and eat breakfast - sometimes it is a tough thing to get going on especially when you are tired, but it feels good to start your day that way. Good luck!

A bowl of oatmeal with some creamy peanut butter mixed in....the best!

Wow! Awesome ideas everyone - I ended up doing some turkey sausage again tonight but I plan on shopping for a few of these things this weekend and giving them a shot....kabobs are always good and I never make the time to put some together. I'm interested in doing the sweet potato on the top rack (how long should that cook…

what about finding a friend to walk around town with and talk to? are you into video games? you could play some games on the Wii? maybe tailor your activity in with your hobbies...

having a good, extra hard workout definitely isn't a bad idea, but I think it would be better just to jump back into your normal routine - that way you just treat it as a blip and don't have to get your mind thinking that you need to go crazy at the gym or starve yourself to counterbalance ya know? just keep grinding

I've seen in the past my initial spark fade a bit once I've joined a new website or tried a new workout plan and I've struggled to break through that wall. This time I'm trying to keep it fresher by really making MFP as a part of my day - I use it on my phone to keep track of meals, track my workouts, and also use the main…

I am potentially interested once you get some more details together!

I just kayak'ed for the first time this past Sunday and it was amazing. It worked out nicely this time as there were no boats on the lake (still a bit early in the season up this way) and so I was able to learn without dodging boats :) It was a great workout and a lot of fun - looking forward to going back out.

I just had a poached egg on an Arnold sandwich thin...good stuff

That is awesome. I feel like every time that I convince myself not to go workout for various excuses, and when I actually overcome that and end up going, that I am SO glad that I did as I feel great afterwards. Glad to hear it went the same for you!

i like to throw a poached egg on there and make a little sandwich Peanut Butter is always the other best option - easy and good!
-
that's all good - just make sure you take care of your ankle this week so you can be back at it. Maybe you can do some extra strength training this week instead
-
pretty awesome transformation thus far!

I just started week 7 - it's a great program as I'm sure you've heard numerous times here. I've started it in the past and have never made it this far - training for a 5K on July 4th as well - feel free to friend me (anyone in this thread) for some encouragement!

I think most people are good about getting out of the way if they know you want in. It is annoynig, but it's a fact of life unfortunately - some people are at the gym to socialize more than work out

I just bought the Polar FT4 this past Saturday and have been using it for my workouts this week. I used to use a HRM that was just a watch - after using both I highly recommend spending a bit more money and getting a model with the chest strap. The FT4 costs about $80-100 depending on where you look and tracks calories…
