  • Damned commies.
  • We have a younger guy who is diabetic and has a bump. If that thing starts beeping or whatever he stops immediately and checks to see what the issue is before he continues. Just not worth doing it another way.
  • Here are a bunch from our webpage http://stayforevercrossfit.com/wods-to-go
  • one of the basic test/baseline workouts: For time: Row 500m 40 air squats 30 sit ups 20 push ups 10 pull ups (ring rows, whatever.) Very first class I did this and it took me about 11 minutes. Tried it again six months later and did it under 6. If you can do it under 5, do it twice for time. I'll do this on vacation…
  • A WOD like that should have a time cap on it. Either one of those things is a workout from hell in and of itself. And I'm not sure doing 100 snatches is every a good idea, I can't imagine the utter lack of form and technique that would be involved with doing the last 10 or 20 reps. I had a WOD last week where I wanted to…
  • Check the hotel where you are staying and see if they have rollers. The rest of the stuff is pretty much required.
  • As you well know the truth is that there is no easy fix. You need to eat less (or better) and move more in some combination that leads to you burning a bit more than you consume. All of the things worth having in life require hard work and a certain amount of pain/discomfort to get them. If you aren't willing to do the…
  • "Springy" For total time (include the rest): 20 Hang Power Cleans 155/105 Every time you drop the bar, perform 20 Air Squats.. -Rest 3 minutes-- 25 Hang Power Cleans 135/90 Every time you drop the bar, perform 20 Air Squats. -Rest 3 minutes-- 30 Hang Power Cleans 115/75 Every time you drop the bar, perform 20 Air Squats.
  • It's an "I'm an overly competitive *kitten*" thing. I don't think we have a monopoly on it and at comps when I've seen it happen usually the other competitors and the judges are giving the person the stink eye. We had one of our athletes who was ready to do his first competition and was going to go scaled because he had…
  • ^I hate those people.
  • I definitely want to try it again in a few months when I'm in better shape.

  • That's just mean.
  • Tell them the truth: not a pound. The results of "the best workout ever" are not necessarily meant to be weight loss.
  • Same here. I think I was pretty steady on the rower (1:45-1:50 pace) and did three sets of 9, three sets of 7, 3 sets of 5, then 5 and 4.

  • 13:03 at 65# thrusters. Shoulders were sore but my engine was what held me back.

  • Our workout today: Warm Up 45 Minute Plank Hold (preferably while reading a novel of choice) Skill Bicep Curls 5 sets of 10. Until perfect pump is achieved. Be sure to stand in front of the mirror for at least 10 minutes after each set to inspect flex technique. WOD 85 minutes on elliptical @ 30% effort. Basically just…
  • You are changing your body composition and adding muscle, and muscle is more dense and weighs more than fat. take some measurements. Neck, biceps, chest, waist at the belly button, hips, thighs. Check them once a month. This helps to stop you from getting hung up on one number (and the least important number, at that.
  • I think I'm gonna go in 9s too. I'm going scaled mainly because if I do 95 lbs thrusters it will take me 45 minutes like 14.5 did. First row I'm aiming for a 1:50 or so pace and will probably do that until the rows are a minute or less then just go balls to the wall. I am going to have to make my time there.

  • Check out this page. At your age, weight and exercise frequency it says your maintenance calorie intake would be 2021. http://iifym.com/tdee-calculator/ Play around with it a bit. It's been accurate for me but I did have to adjust a wee bit. I'm also trying to lose weight so I eat a deficet to the TDEE number.…
  • The first one here is great, I did it for six months and saw great results. http://www.muscleandstrength.com/articles/forget-steroids-5-fullbody-workouts-for-serious-gains.html 5x5 was too much squatting and I felt like I was not recovering properly. This spreads things out a bit and gives you one day of no squatting…
  • 1200 calories is a recipe for failure. It's only a matter of time before you are so hungry you binge eat something or other. If you are actively exercising, it's far too little to be healthy. I'd also (for a few days) weight your food on a scale if possible. The results might be enlightening.
  • Or maybe he should make his own food. Why is it her responsibility?
  • Whenever I see "I hate veggies" I read "I hate food." But that's just me. I don't know if I could live on only meat and bread/grains.
  • Pretty good, and I haven't been super strict following it. For the next six months my bigger focus is going to be on fat loss but it was good to do a mini-bulking cycle before hand.
  • Deadlifts on the last week of our Wendler cycle. I will probably do the squats as well (those were yesterday but I didn't go) and then the WOD is "Spiral" 5 Rounds for time: 5 Power Snatch (115/75) 6 C2Bs 7 Lateral Bar Hop Burpees Will scale C2B to bands, most likely.
  • Garage gym would definitely be the next best option. I'm guessing if both of you are paying membership that's more than enough. Spend the money on a wall rack/rig. You can get the bar and weight plates on craigslist or online for cheap. Can usually find the plates dirt cheap. They might be a bit rusty and worn, but who…
  • Scaled 73, and I did it last minute last night. Several people had told me to pace myself so I did, doing 5 reps at a time. If I did it again I think I'd get into the mid 80s and push a little harder.
