I've had PCOS for years but kind of ignored it by taking the pill. Didn't work to well for me and over 4 years I've put on 40 kg. Now trying to get back to my goal weight and avoiding all the hormones that the doctor's are trying to get me to take. I'm seeing a naturopath and that seems to be helping. One step at a time…

Hahahah!! I have 3 mini foxies and they love to help me work out. I actually started using them as weights when I did crunches. They love walking too (not great with other dogs, but getting better) as long as I dont go further than 5 km ... any more and I end up carrying one or more back to the car. Luck their combined…

I log it as circuit training, and checked it with my HRM and its pretty close. MFP has it at a slightly higher burn rate so I put in 20 mins instead of the 25 or so you are doing the dvd for.

Invest in a good HRM. I do belly dancing and only ever burn around 330 -380 cals depending on the type of belly dance (folkloric vs traditional etc) so I just change the number on MFP to match the HRM. :)

Thyroid is normal - it gets checked each time I rock up to the doctors demanding they help me. I think it is diet related, am on a waiting list to see a dietician as my old one was terrible. I LOVE zumba - you can do low impact but the instructor should ask if you have permission from your doctor to be in the class. I too do belly dancing and Zumba. I find for belly dancing I will burn around 350 -400 cals an hour and for Zumba I burn around 400 - 500 cals an hour depending on the class, the teacher, the type of dance we do.

Boy do I know how you feel!!! I am losing nothing, but exercsing at least 5 days a week and staying below my calories. I tend to eat around 1600 net a day which is my BMR. When I have a day off its more like having a rest day from the gym or relaxing my calories and eating some of that chocolate. You can try concentrating on core cardio work outs - but like Katylotka says you generally loose weight from all over your body! Good luck!!

I LOVE my Zumba class, it really motivates me to keep going and the 400 odd calories burnt aren't too bad either. Don't worry about being uncoordinated, some of the ladies in my class just step along to the basic moves - you can go along at your own pace!! Give it a try. :)
