  • Congrats! Continue your route and you'll never have to use those meds again! It can also be done without the meds. My levels 6 months ago were through the roof and life style changes and exercise alone and I've been able to put them in line. Keep up the hard work! :)
  • You need to use the IMG tags and the location of where ever the pic is at. For example (remove the spaces in the brackets): [ IMG ]http://mypic.whereever.it.is.com[ /IMG ]
  • Thanks ya'll! I looked at all the pages in this thread and kudo's to all! Fantastic work and transformations! Motivating!
  • I'm now 174 and 54 lbs down in 8 months. The pics are 4 lbs ago. The after pic was chopped into the Jeeping pic from last year.
  • Besides life style changes (whole food, non processed foods, no fast food, beer, workout etc.) I use a multi-suppliment called Fatigued to Fantastic designed for CFS & Fibromyalgia and it has a lot for Hashi's folks like us (ex; selenium). It has made a huge difference in my world. It contains a good amount of vitamin D in…
  • Amen Karen! Woot! Woot! sexy girl! :D As Jack my lawn guy who btw is 60 plus years old and in great shape says; "It didn't take over night to get where you are now it'll take some time and a lot of work to get back there!" Kudos to ya girl I'm in awe of your dedication and you indeed motivate me missy! :D Rock on!
  • Hypo here too and my hands and feet have been colder than what I'm use to for sure. The higher level of Niacin I take doesn't help matters and causes flushing to a degree! :O I find myself using my laptop at times as a hand warmer! LOL!
  • Well I don't have much knowledge on hair or hair products but thought I'd chime in for some humor at least! :) I'm bald and all the gray I have in the beard are more like white so I call them mutant whites! At least the wife lets me get away with it! ;) LOL! Interesting the meds of changed the color. I guess we're one big…
  • Welcome everyone.
  • Hashi's with life style changes. I have been able to put my numbers back in line with eating differently, supplements and activity. So so far I don't take any thyroid meds, however, my supplements include doses of selenium and other additions thanks to Fatigued to Fantastic which has worked wonders for me. My eating life…
  • Everyone's situation is a bit different. I have Hashi's. What works for me so far is a full lifestyle change. I do more of a "Mediterranean" with a combination of "DASH" way of eating. I don't eat red or dark meats, 90-95% cut out processed and dairy, 99% of fast food, 100% beer although I have an occasional wine. I also…
  • But I reckon I got off topic a bit. My workouts involve a lot of things that add up to "life style" choices. Often it's building Jeeps, buggies or extreme rock crawling in them, running, weights and other normal things too. Diet I think equals one aspect of life style and I don't eat red or dark meat, cut out 90-95 of…
  • Agree to disagree Karen! You are far more than just attitude darlin! :) LOL! So is this a girls thread or can us boys play too? I hope we can! My 1st secret is my hair cut, 2nd is my somewhat unique facial hair and 3rd is my naughtiness! Close 4th is all the other stuff that adds up to my lifestyle choices and that list is…
  • Fill free to add me and peruse my entries too. I average around 1500 calories daily. I prepare most of our meals on a "whole foods" method or at least as close as I can. I don't eat red meat, much dairy or processed foods. Absolutely no fast foods.
  • Welcome, focus, learn from folks here and other places and I have faith you can do it girl! I also have Hashi's! Life changes is what it's about.

  • Dr Teitelbaum created it mainly for CRS and Fibromyalgia with thyroid patience in mind. It may not be right for everyone but seems to work well for me so far. I feel an increase in energy, stamina, less brain fog & forgetfulness, less joint pains etc. The other interesting tid-bit is all the money raised for it is donated…
  • I just wanted to update this thread. I've been using the Fatigued to Fantastic now for a week and I've never felt better. The boy even has a hard time keeping up with me know! LOL!
  • Here is what I take as my morning regiment. Below are details of the Fatigued to Fantastic powder I mix as a drink every morning then I also add another 200 mg of Selenium, Joint Health Glucosamine/Chondroitin and Super Omega-3 6&9 Fatty Acids, Fish, Flax, & Borage Oil. I've been using the Fatigued to Fantastic for a week…
  • Thanks for the input ya'll. I started taking the Fatigued to Fantastic!, Energy Revitalization System yesterday so we'll see how it goes. It has most of what you mentioned islandmonkey and more. Below is a snapshot of some of the vitamins in the mix. This is not a complete list so you'll need to look it up if you want it.…
  • From someone who has just recently been diagnosed with Hashimoto's you'll want to pick the "right" doc for you. Reading up on it helps too. There is some great information and knowledgeable folks here. I've been reading some of Mary J. Shomon's books which are also informative. There are many good authors out there. As for…
  • Interesting stuff! Ya'll may find some of this information interesting too: http://products.mercola.com/coconut-oil/ Not to side track the thread....I like the So Delicious coconut milk ice cream too. In small quantities though! LOL!

  • How are you doing this? More Selenium or a combination of things? raeraebeau I'm new to all of this to so you're not alone. I found out over the holidays at 44 I have hashimotos.
  • Santa Claus brought me a diagnosis of Hashimoto's at the age of 44. Nodules, Goiter and high TPO. I guess I'm in the minority of men who get it. Go figure!
  • Recently diagnosed with Hashimoto's and have heard the same thing about gluten. I haven't tried cutting it out yet though. Interesting comments! :)
  • Hello all. My name is Brian and I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's over the holidays. I guess I'm one of the few lucky men to get it. I feel like a big tin of Charles Chips so thus my screen name. LOL! The cholesterol and triglyceride levels are also high which is known to be a side affect. :( Major life changes for me to…
  • Welcome Kristel! I'm a newbie to myfitnesspal and recently diagnosed with Hashimoto's too. I've lost 14 lbs in the past month but have plateaued for a few days. :( I sent more details in a message to you. :)
  • I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's over the Holidays. Since then I've cut out red meat and cut back on most dairy and processed foods. I eat a lot of vegs, fruits, nuts, tofu, whole foods and some organic chicken and more mild fish. I've lost 14 lbs in a month but have seemed to plateaued a bit. I am not on any thyroid meds…
