Have hashimotos and looking for more support!

Hello!

I am hoping to find some more supporters in my journey to losing weight and becoming more fit. I have hashimoto's thryroiditis which tends to making losing weight hard if not nearly impossible. I have lost 6.6 in the past 5 weeks and am hoping to lose 40+ more pounds within the next 6 months. Anyone able to support me or offer me some advice, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks! :D

Welcome Kristel! I'm a newbie to myfitnesspal and recently diagnosed with Hashimoto's too. I've lost 14 lbs in the past month but have plateaued for a few days. :( I sent more details in a message to you. :)

Heather, that's great! I would love to get to a point to where maintaining would be my only concern. Congrats to you!

    Hello,
I dont have hashimoto's but a lot of my weight gain is from my stuggle with hives and mostly, struggle maintaining my weight after prednisone. It seems much harder to get back down then say, weight from the holidays.

I completely understand! I have been on pred myself in the past. Steriods are such a pain in the tush! Looks like you've already lost quite a bit of weight. Just keep up the good work!

I have regular thyroid disease, I'm not completely sure what the difference is (I know hasimoto's is an auto-immune type of thyroid disease) but I haven't noticed it to be a major problem for weight loss. I'm on a high dose of t-4 so I guess mine was pretty bad. I actually noticed it was easier to lose weight after being on the t-4 for a few months
