I recently started making homemade green machine smoothies. Basically a banana, pineapple, mango, some plain greek yogurt and kale all blended together (you can't taste the kale). After a few days I noticed that I wasn't craving sweets as much. That wasn't my intention but it was certainly a benefit! Also, sometimes…

Mine is accurate as well. However, just breathing, I burn about 1.8 cal/min. So if I I exercise for 60 min I do 1.8 x 60 and subtract that total from the HRM total. i/e The HRM says I burned 655. 1.8 x 60= 108. 655-108= my actual calories burned by exercise.

I was off the wagon for about 5 days while we had family visiting. My motivation was looking in the full length mirror yesterday and thinking that I'm still not nearly where I want to be. I think about how hard I've worked and not getting back on the wagon is like throwing it all away.

Sorry for the delay in responding. I wear a heart rate monitor. I burn about 1.8 calories/min just sitting still so I take the total burned minus the 65 or so calories (it's about 35 minutes) and voila!

I did both of those today to the tune of 59 minutes and burned about 649 calories. I didn't feel like going to the gym either and I already am in a better mood after working…

dwazy, It's a new balance that I bought at Target. I have a friend who has a FitBit and after she uses that for a while, I may switch but I just wanted something more accurate than the MFP counts. It was telling me that an hour of kickboxing was burning 1200+ calories but the HRM showed closer to 800-900 depending on…

Thank you! That helps a lot!

If you have a Wii, the Wii fit is a great option. If not, get yourself a Netflix membership. They have several DVDs that you can stream from your computer to try or you can rent a DVD workout and try it before spending $20-$30 on it.

Thanks! I've read so many conflicting posts that I wasn't sure if it was my normal calories or my net calories after exercise! Oh, and GO DAWGS! (I like your hat!)

I'm not from NZ but Outrageous Fortune is my favorite show! Does that count?
