  • I personally don't like it but I don't avoid it. If I want a pop (which is very rare) then having a diet is better than calories and sugar. Plus, I chew gum almost daily but it's a small amount and I'm not going to stress over that.
  • Do you mean you've set your activity level at sedentary? Because if so, you need to put in everything you do that is physical (including walking, cleaning, cooking...) and eat back the calories...
  • I like it. And people, it's a basic calculator. MFP takes the calorie deficit they have already in place for you, adds (or subtracts) that days calories and tells you an estimate. Unfortunately your body doesn't know math so it might be off here and there. However, as was said, if you ate the same and burnt the same every…
  • Make sure you're eating enough and a good balance of carbs/protein/fat. Plus, if you quit drinking coffee/pop then most likely you are going through caffeine withdrawal. If this is the case, it'll pass but I generally lower my caffeine intake over time instead of quitting cold turkey. It'll help with the withdrawals.
  • I always have a snack after dinner, at whatever time it happens at. So many "rules" to follow. I think I'll focus on changing other things then feel starving at night and not sleeping as good.
  • Danone Silhoutte - Vanilla Yogurt Milk - Reduced fat, 2% milkfat Pc - Frozen Fruit - 4-Berry Blend Silk - True Almond Milk
  • Is 68 all you have to lose? Because (I hear) the last 10-20 pounds can be harder to get off and the thinner you get, the less per week you'll lose. All in all though, it doesn't matter. You aim for 68 and get 50 and I bet you'll still be pretty darn happy :)
  • Ugh, this is so hard to decide! I decided not to go with MFP usual 1200 calories and instead upped it to 1360 eating back most exercise calories burned.... however when I calculate my BMR I get anywhere from 1300-2148!!! That's a huge difference. There are 2 sites that both said 1800ish which would mean I'm eating too…
  • MANY restaurants (well, at least the big chains) have their menus online as well as nutrition facts. I also find many restaurants now have a "healthy" section in their menu. Then again, I rarely go to restaurants and usually only go to chains. (And in Canada, not sure if that makes a difference).
  • Well, fittest bod explains it right there. You'll need to exercise and yes, eat back the calories. To lose weight you need a deficit in calories. You can get that by eating less OR adding exercise OR a combo of both. The latter being the healthiest.
  • Unfortunately you can't do it and still be healthy. But that doesn't mean you can't tone up your body and look great. Plus, finding a great dress can help hide anything you couldn't lose in time. At 144, I would think a goal of 15-20 is doable...
  • It looks too bride-like to me. I've seen many brides with a similar style. I think you can pull off any color but white/ivory colors (although it's also nice to not wear the same color of the bridesmaids if you know what they are wearing).
  • Hmmm....feeling some anger after reading such negativity towards my Canucks :P Guess i should use that anger in a productive way.... off to clean!
  • Low calories is what matters and you should try to balance those calories out for the best nutrition.
  • Have you tried pre-planning your meals? Sounds like you're incredibly busy so perhaps find some healthy meals and do what you can to prep or pre-cook them so there is less thought process. Perhaps hang some motivation up around the house.... quotes that inspire, pictures of who you were or want to be, clothes that you like…
  • I never drink any type of milk but I use the almond milk daily in my shake so I don't have a problem. I think it lasts about a week :)
  • You can't expect, what I can only assume, years of bad habits to change. Try to focus on what you've done great in order to lose those 5 pounds and remember that tomorrow is a new day. Small changes can lead to a big result so stay positive!
  • You're probably not eating enough. Or enough of the right foods.
  • To lose weight you need a calorie deficit. You can get that by eating less, exercising more or a combo of both. The best way of course is a combo because not only will you lose weight you'll get fit and toned and feel better physically. Now if you're wanting to make a change at a time, I'd suggest doing whichever you think…
  • I'm eating between 1400-1600 right now but I might change that.... it's so hard to know what's the magic number! But it drives me crazy how many people are only eating 1000 calories!!!
  • You look AMAZING!!! You must feel amazing. You should be so proud.
  • If I remember correctly... it gave me pictures of all my friends and I chose which ones I wanted to invite. Might also show who already had an account. I do think you got the choice though.....
  • I've done it both ways. I try to be honest but there has been a day or two I didn't finish my journal because of going over. However....no matter what I still measure and count up how many calories I am eating ... I want to know how much I go over by!!! I always know what I put into my body, I just might not admit it on…
  • You stopped doing your calorie counter? Then how do you know you aren't eating more than you should? Working out 3 times a week will mean your body has changed...whether the scale says it or not. I would imagine you can do more for longer now and your body will be more toned. Have you checked your measurements? Sometimes…
  • Well if you've lost that much weight then it sounds like you're doing everything right. If you think MFP doesn't have the right numbers, change them manually.
  • Wow, that is a crazy weight loss in just 1 month. Are you taking any vitamins or medication? These can make you sick when you don't have enough food in your stomach.
  • Measure any spot on your waist (whether it's technically the right spot or not) and remember to measure that same spot each time. I don't measure my waist per se, I measure the biggest spot on my tummy where my love handles are. And, sure, you can squeeze the measuring tape to make yourself feel like you've lost more but…
  • It's whenever you feel the best to go for a walk.
  • Find visual motivation things and post them everywhere. Quotes, written down goals, pictures that inspire you, clothes you want to wear. You do not have to be unhealthy for your life. IT IS HARD. But if you don't start now, think of where you will end up.
  • There are lots of ideas of how to break through a plateau, just google. (I'm not a professional and nowhere near where you are). I'd also think that in general, the scale isn't always right. Have you been tracking your measurements? Are you feeling more fit than before? Those can be better tools to determine your progress.…
