Sounds so much like my situation. I think I lost 12 pounds the first month as soon as I left my husband and I'm sure a lot of that was just because I was under so much less stress being away from him.
-
I felt also that my husband was very unsupportive of my weightloss efforts. I know, as another poster mentioned, that a lot of his behaviors were habitual (bringing me or encouraging me to order certain foods that I enjoyed, made me happy) but ultimately he was/is just a very insecure, selfish, manipulative person and that…

Gluten free diets seem to benefit all sorts of autoimmune problems. I have had a lot of success with it improving both my PCOS and narcolepsy.

LOL crobl @ awesome and not creepy. 21? You have nice shiny hair!

Livestrong's entire site is filled with problems, glitches, and bad information. They have no credibilty with me whatsoever.

Caffeine... been almost 5 years.

I enjoy cucumbers this way also. It's about the only way I can eat them. I've never added sugar though... vinegar, a little soy sauce, water, garlic, pepper.

I've never been a huge fan of raw tomatoes but I bought some cherry tomatoes today. I honestly don't think I've ever eaten one-- I've always plucked them off of whatever they were on, assuming they tasted just like the others. I'm going to try them now and see how they taste :)

I have PCOS also (as well as narcolepsy). For years (from age 18) I was treated through traditional means with birth control (Yasmin) to correct my abnormal cycle (I used to only have 1-2 periods a year, lasting about a month each). I trusted my doctor and I didn't know what else could be done to treat the disease. I also…

This happened to me also. You'll probably see an improvement within a few weeks.

I would imagine it also has something to do with the casein, which slows the release of cortisol.

What about Abigail Rue (french for "road")?
-
As much as I like the name, this is a very good point. One of the first definitions for rogue that comes up is "tramp."

I like it. Very cute.

Ezekiel bread isn't gluten free though, is it?

I also have a gluten intolerance. I've been eating GF for about 2 years now and it has made such a huge difference in the way I feel. It has essentially cured my PCOS (periods are completely regular now, without medication) and I have a lot more energy. I don't crave the foods I used to eat at all anymore and the couple…

Snacks... Almonds, Walnuts, Pistachios, Peanuts Cottage Cheese, String Cheese Hardboiled Eggs Greek Yogurt Meals... Pretty much any lean meat on a salad or with a plate of veggies will be low carb

I don't run but I've been looking at getting them for weight training. Just haven't gotten around to it. Thanks for the reminder.

Glad I could help. I hope you find the answers you're looking for. :)

I added both the Chialife and Spectrum Essentials brand chia seeds to the database; those are the ones I use. But the nutritional content varies from brand to brand. You'll probably want to use a specific entry.

Today my snack was greek yogurt with strawberries, pineapple, and 2 tbsp of chia. I love putting them in things like yogurt or oatmeal because they just gel up and blend right in; you don't notice the texture at all. I've added them to chicken and tuna salad before also.

I add them to my yogurt or oatmeal. They blend right in; you don't even notice them.

I get mine from a local mom & pop health food store but I know both Whole Foods and GNC sell it. It shouldn't be too difficult for you to find.

This is a really outstanding link for everyone to check out. It contains a lot of information on PCOS you'll have trouble finding anywhere else: http://m.blogtalkradio.com/show.aspx?userurl=undergroundwellness&year=2010&month=10&day=14&url=polycistic-ovarian-syndrome-underdiagnosed-and-ove

Oh man I HATED Yaz. I felt terrible on it too.

Going gluten free was *HUGE* for me. My periods have been completely regular ever since, without any medication whatsoever. At first, my naturopathic physician had me on bioidentical HRT to help my body reset itself but I don't even need that anymore. I do take a variety of supplements though which also help keep things in…

What I hate the most are the ignorant doctors. They think putting women with PCOS on birth control helps the condition when, in reality, it does the total opposite. Not only does it exacerbate your insulin resistance but it fuels the problem of estrogen dominance. But you're getting your period every month while on it so…

Chia seed is really good too. I put it in all sorts of stuff... salads, yogurt, oatmeal, etc. See: http://blog.thrivefoods.net/2009/07/chia-seeds-top-10-benefits.html
