Raw/CleanDiet and Pimples

Hey! I started eating clean (mostly raw) 5 days ago and my skin is starting to break out in places I've never had zits, and all over my face. WTF?!? I've been reading that eating clean helps eliminate zits, I really hope this issue clears up soon! hehehe.

Anyway, has anyone else had a similar experience? How long did the bad skin last for you? Did you breakout again after you finished the diet?
I'd like to make this a lifestyle change, not a fad diet for me- but I'm way to vain to sacrifice a year+ of seriously crappy skin on my shoulders, back, legs!, chest, in my hair, etc, for a cleaner diet.

Ive been eating a lot of
    -Carrots
    -Broccoli
    -Asparagus
    -Spinach
    -Zuchinni
    -Apples
    -Oranges
    -Grapes

    Also
    -1% milk
    -Salmon and turkey
    -Hummus
    -Coconut Water
    -Blue Cheese (small amounts)
-Buckets of water (nothing new for me)

I've actually eaten all of this stuff for a really long time. I basically just cut chocolate, chips, ice cream, and pop tarts from my diet and the above list is what remained. There have been no changes to my workouts, no additional stress...I can't belive that after 5 days I'm already detoxing, that just seems way too soon (especially since my diet didn't drastically change. I wasn't living on the bad foods I cut from my diet, just munching more).

Maybe you are allergic to a food you hardly or never ate before.
  • This happened to me also. You'll probably see an improvement within a few weeks.
  • Well I started eating vegan 3 months ago and my face has been broken out since :( Doesn't make any sense to me and I'm in the process of getting seen by a dermatologist.
  • I would cut out the milk IMO for your diet tho. Milk has been proven to make you more prone to acne. http://themilkblog.blogspot.com/2007/05/how-milk-causes-acne.html

I know that's just a blog post but it still talks about it and you could google for more.

I eat pretty clean but not completely. I do know that dairy makes my skin break out within 24 hours. I avoid it as much as possible.
