I'll have to look into the zombie run. They had one NOLA in october but I had other stuff on my schedule. Check this one out: http://www.colormerad.com/races/neworleans.html It's a 5k in May. I'm doing it also. Hubby works at the track where it is being held.

Glad you had a great time! Finishing last is way better than not finishing at all!! I came in last for a night trail run in November. I was supposed to do two 7 mile loops, but after the first (running alone in the woods in the dark) I decided not to go back out. I was lapped by 3 people on their 2nd loop. But it was still…

I'll tell you a few things my run coach has taught me: Strength training is a big part of running. Find time for it. Training runs should be at a slower pace than your race pace, except maybe speed work. Gaining a little weight while training for distance will happen. Are you doing any speed work? If not, look up intervals…

What's the route? I looked on line but didn't see it.

You will do great! make sure to hydrate today. And don't go out to fast just because others are. Run your own pace. That always trips me up.

LOL - I'm still a begineer. I like to surround myself with real runners and pretend I am one of them! I'm doing the Rouge-Orleans next month. It's a 126.2 miles from BR to NO. I am doing it as part of a 6 person team. 24 hour race. Should be very interesting. Also there is a group going to the Runner's World Half festival…

The Color Run is 2/8. It maybe sold out. I know the one they had in the fall sold out quickly. It was hard to decide which pair of shoes to wear for the play dirty. I didn't want my feet to hurt but I knew the shoes were going straight into the garbage after lol

I did the full, my first! I did a run/walk and finished in 5:29. It was awesome. I am very sore, but honestly not as sore as after my first half last year. I guess the more you do it the more your body can handle :D

Good luck and have fun! I'm still recovering from last weekends run or I'd join you!

I have this one my calendar, but haven't committed yet. It does look fun. I did the Play Dirty last year and had a blast. I'll probably do the Color Me Rad run in NOLA in May. It's being held at the racetrack where my husband works. Gotta support the menfolk lol

Hey! I've done several ARs and think they are the funnest thing on this planet! First thing, expect to run in wet, muddy shoes. I'm not saying you can't bring another pair, but mostly it's more trouble than its worth. I don't think you will see many people doing it. ARs are not like Tri's. The running/paddling/biking is…
