  • How do you feel in yourself though? Do you feel slimmer/more toned/more energy? I would pay more attention in the long run to things like your clothes not fitting, maybe take measurements once a month and just how you feel! Scales don't always show an accurate picture of what you have achieved!
  • I don't speak to anyone about my fitness/diet goals, only my boyfriend who understands but all my friends would poke fun and try and make me feel like an idiot for trying to tone up and loose body fat as if I am mentally challenged! Being very thin in my past I was mocked a lot. I used to get a lot of male attention when I…
  • I also suffer from hypo and put on weight, the easy part I found was to stop the weight gain trend when the medication was just right, but losing the weight is so much harder! I still would not recommend eating less then 1200 or even 1300, eat 1300-1600 and then exercise and eat back the calories you have burnt. The other…
  • I started today and loving it!! Can't wait for results fingers crossed!!!
  • I have never tried an extreme cleanse, but I heard about the lemon cleanse and adapted it around my current diet. I started drinking one pint of lemon water first thing in the morning and another glass last thing at night but whilst eating clean throughout the day. Raw lemon juice is very nutritious, full of anti oxidants,…
  • Hey everyone :) What's your name? Nicola Where do you live? Nottingham, UK! What are your food vices/ cheats? Coca Cola, Alcohol and Chocolate :P What do you think is holding you back from being in your TOP shape? Drinking on the weekends, sitting around and not being active enough and not sticking to an exercise regime…
  • I am new here also and looking to start my paleo diet once I have got to grips with what its all about fully :) Those books look great though! I would like to start with a good book on the diet for sure!
  • As most the others have said I would go and speak to your doctor! Tell them about your diet changes and the symptoms and maybe get some blood work done! As someone else stated, it may have been a panic attack/anxiety? Diet changes can cause anxiety and general edginess in some people. Maybe you are feeling more irritable…
  • I am not a huge fan of pizza or cheese in general! My family can sit around and consume masses of cheese and crackers in an evening but it does nothing for me. Mayonnaise makes me want to be sick. I literally hate it with a passion. Bacon I don't like much. Far to salty and just gross. Ice cream, you can put it front of me…
  • I am 5'5, started on this site weighing 140 and I am now 137 and my goal weight is 126. Feel free to add me as a friend :)
  • I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism about 3 years ago. Prior to being diagnosed I was under weight and went from that to being over weight. I am no longer over weight thanks to watching what I eat and doing lot's of walking. I do struggle with exercise though as I feel lethargic and tired a lot. It's just so easy to put on…
  • I have low blood pressure and get a fuzzy head from time to time and have to stop. Years ago though I didn't know this and developed a bit of a phobia of exercising. I would try to exercise and get light headed and have a panic attack about it. It took a lot of tests and convincing from my doctor before I got over this…
  • I don't consume any dairy... the odd splash in a cup of tea maybe twice a week and thats it. I hate cheese and I hate milk on cereal I always use rice or oat milk! The fact I don't consume any dairy has never helped me loose weight though. I always have a bloated belly pouch so something else must be responsible. I…
  • Very true! Thank you! The idea of getting a rowing machine completely slipped my mind! I will definitely be looking into that. I do wish I could dedicate myself to home work out dvds, but so far nothing has kept me motivated. I am terrible and turn them off half way threw lol. The most enjoyable work out I have found is…
  • I am in the process of building up my work out equipment in the home but it is so very confusing! A big factor for me is having virtually no space for anything big and bulky as much as I would adore a cross trainer of my own or something! I have been considering getting an exercise bike, seems so convenient and you can…
  • Hula hooping looks gorgeous :) I would love to get this good HA... in my dreams http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rz-V0jHzbtg Be sure to get a weighted hoop! Heavier hoops are supposed to be best for beginners and weight loss. I got a hoop that weighs 1.2kg and is padded with foam so its "less" painful. You can get ones with…
  • Oh yes! Someone mentioned ballet work outs they look great but very tough! The Element: Ballet Conditioning DVD looks really great.
  • I made a thread on this just today but I am considering starting to learn how to hula hoop. I think it looks so amazing and sexy and its supposed to be a great work out! Check out hoopnotica... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dDUegb4s4UQ http://www.youtube.com/user/hoopnotica The only other thing I can think of is something…
  • Hey thanks! Thats great that it has helped you to tone! Thats what I am hoping to get out of it as I am a little on the flabby side at the moment even though my BMI and weight is healthy. Oh yes I have just discovered fitness blender it is great they have so many great work outs! Do they have a hoop routine? Also have your…
  • youtube is a great place to find lots of different types of work outs for free and without equipment! I love fitnessblender they have some great routines that target different areas and its all talked through and easy to follow, from 8 minutes long to 45 minutes and loads that don't require equipment! Go here and take a…
  • Did you weigh yourself at the same time of day both times? I usually weigh myself in the morning and thought I would weigh myself tonight and the scales say I have put on 3 pounds in 2 days! I will now stick to weighing myself first thing in the morning because I am feeling pretty rubbish now!! I have only been here 5…
  • Thats amazing!! You should be hugely proud of yourself! I have eating issues, sometimes purge and was treated for anorexia when I was 22 (I am now 26 and a healthy 139 pounds BMI 22.4). I went down to 93 pounds back then with a BMI of 15 at my lowest. I still have some issues, and I am trying to shape up at the moments and…
  • I used to be the same until I discovered drinking warm lemon water! What I do is buy a bag of fresh lemons, squeeze half a lemon into a glass and add hot water from the kettle and then a splash of cold water from the water filter so its at a drinkable temp and then I drink it as quickly as I can (some people also add maple…
  • Yes! Soup is the way forward! Filling and nutritious. I am like you in that I really don't like vegetables. Been the same way since I was a little girl. I still eat clean though, as in I prepare and cook my own chicken and salmon and then eat it with new potato's and herbs or a small amount of rice. I make my own jacket…
  • Night time is my biggest downfall also. I go for a light snack, but find myself still hungry afterwards! I end up eating a fair bit in the end but I always try and eat low cal low fat snacks like cold turkey slices, crackers, rice cakes, red bush tea etc. What I have been doing recently which has helped no end is drinking…
  • I am usually 2 pounds heavier before I go to bed
