Hula Hooping!

Hey everyone!

Does anyone out there on MFP do hula hooping for fitness? I am thinking of investing in a hoop and possibly a hooping DVD or book and wondered whether others who have incorporated hooping into they're routine would recommend it? Anyone had any good results from hula hooping? It sounds really good for toning but not so much fat burning but I am not sure?

I am currently 139 pounds wanting to work my way down to 129 pounds and trying to find exercises that are relatively cheap, fun and that can fit around the 3 jobs I currently have.

Also if anyone has any dvd's, websites, youtube channels for hooping they would recommend to get me started that would be great! :)

P.S sorry if there is already another thread on hooping I couldn't see one anyway!

Thank you!

I use the hula hoop. It has helped since I gave birth to tighted up my middle a bit. I use it in between things too and I use the website fitnessblender.com for free videos and workouts for it and other workouts. I have a library of fitness dvd's but I LOVE this website. it's free and helps change up workouts without having the spend money. Any workout you can imagen from 10 min to 40 minutes. its great!

    Hey thanks!

Thats great that it has helped you to tone! Thats what I am hoping to get out of it as I am a little on the flabby side at the moment even though my BMI and weight is healthy.

Oh yes I have just discovered fitness blender it is great they have so many great work outs! Do they have a hoop routine?

Also have your heard/tried hoopnotica? http://www.youtube.com/user/Hoopnotica

They look good and like a lot of fun. The hoop dance moves look crazy cool :D weight loss or no weight loss being able to show off with a hoop is still an amazing thing to aspire to! Im tempted by they're level 1 DVD although maybe youtube alone might have enough content on its own for hooping.

Fitness Blender ROCKS! Could use it every day if life didn't get in the way.
