It is my experience that MFP sets you up too low, by default. If you're sticking with 1200 calories, I'd eat back *some* of those exercise cals. 1200 is very low and for most of us even below our BMR.

I do planned refeeds. This aligns with my fat loss and is planned based on my training days. A refeed is good for the body, but is also not an all out binge fest. It should be done strategically and with a plan. I will occasionally do an "off plan" meal for a night out with my husband, but even then I try not to go all out…

sometimes the body has to play catch up. and sometimes that can mean retaining water, waste, etc. hang in there and stay true to your goals. you know what to do... keep doing it!

it's pretty easy, you just have to find a zumba certification. if you're good at it already, go for it! :-) there are also videos.

4 lbs in one week? that's plenty. :-)
-
awesome! keep it up. :-) i'm 32 and it just keeps getting harder... but it's a LIFE LONG journey!

5am, 6 days a week :-)

Welcome! One tip, CONSISTENCY is key. Never give up!

You CAN do this!

just wanted to add my two cents. I LOVE insanity... and I love shaun t even more. :)

beware the atkins bars, unless you like to poop your pants. lol. or vomit... ;-{

There is nothing wrong with an occasional low day but eating this low for long periods will substantially put you at high risk for regaining weight rapidly once you return to whatever you consider "normal." This sort of causes a rebound effect, and it can be worse for low carbing. If you intend to low carb for life, then…

I get asked this all the time... lots of great responses here. I just wrote a blog about it this week to "sum up" what I tell people when they ask me. Enjoy! http://payfitforward.net/2012/07/big-hitters/

sugar = water retention don't sweat it.... you will pee it out in no time. :)

i would focus on your general cardio first... strength and cardio are sort of two different animals. lift light weights during your workouts and keep the strength "light" for now so that your body adjusts to being active. you will be amazed at what just one week will do for your cardio... just stay consistent. it takes…

It's okay... it's water. Rest assured. You didn't eat 14,000 EXTRA calories did you? The body is a complicated machine. Way MORE goes into a LB than calories or junk foods. Hormones and thyroid, sleep or lack of sleep, sodium water retention, water retention from heat, lack of hydration, too much hydration, PMS, swollen…

Basically, Health & Strength over being "skinny" and consistency and good habits will pay off in the end. Never give up regardless of whether you have a good day or a bad day....
-
LOL. I totally have thought this and wondered the same... but today I'm just laughing at how our minds work.... we are so complicated, aren't we? It's such a MeNtAl game. :-)

Yup, Robb Wolf and Mark Sisson are both GREAT in the world of nutritional info. Also, check out Sean Croxton's Underground Wellness.

It's true. running is NOT going to get you the same results as lifting heavy. look at a sprinter vs. a distance runner. totally built differently. totally different machines. lifting is going to build you more like a sprinter, fast-twitch type muscles.... distance running works slow twitch and when you get up in mileage…

better yet, how much will you gain back after you eat normally again.... perhaps that is the more important question?
-
hormones. play. a. huge. role. i'm pretty sure. just sayin'
-
yup
-
the water could play a role... but the other two, if they are within your calorie/macros then they are fine. are you working out?
-
LOVE LOVE LOVE it!

thank you <3

you are all so judgemental. this is not a starvation "diet" or gimmick. it's not a fast. it's a cleanse/reset. it includes supplements and also a vegan 3-week eating plan. you obviously know very little about me and my 2 year journey to health and wellness. i am not someone who succumbs to fad diets or quick fixes. and, to…

Okay, apparently not the type of helpful people I was looking for. Thanks anyways. Have a wonderful day.

thanks for the advice everyone. this is a full body cleanse, cleanses all systems, not just the "gut"... eliminates toxins, etc. i am sure eating clean is great for many things, but it does not do such a detailed, intense job.... i eat clean already... i will head the advice about the workout! i definitely think the body…
