Cleanse
About to start a pretty intense 3-week cleanse. Anyone have any advice or experience? The recommendation is not to workout... but I am thinking of lowering the intensity and still continuing to workout. Would love to hear from you!

Cross Fit ROLL CALL
Any other cross fitters out there? I am just starting out, after being a runner solely for 2 years.... and I LOVE IT. I can't wait to get into the nitty gritty of it all. Any tips for a newbie cross fitter?

after low gains?
has anyone else experienced the all-time low only to gain back at least 10ish lbs? my lowest ever was 136, and i only saw that for a mere "blink" of a moment.... and then it was 140's and 150's mostly. of course now i am creeping up and must put a stop to it, but it seemed like my body bottomed out and then sort of…

Hey all! Have I got a challenge for you..
It's SIMPLE. It's FREE. In order to get myself into a "groove" of being more "on it" and helping me to burn all those extra calories I consume(d) during the Holidays, I am going to COMMIT to TWO workouts a day until January 1st. I will take one rest day per week, but otherwise I will workout for a minimum of 30 minutes at…

super duper frustrated.
let me preface by saying that i know my eating hasn't been 100%, BUT, that seems only to be partially to blame. i am gaining weight. and it's really really killing me. but the more i think about it, i wonder if it's NOT just my food. what do you think? 1. i ran a marathon in october (23rd), and two halfs (nov 4) (nov 19)…

bulking? cutting? head spinning....
hey guys. i am at a "fork" in the road (no pun intended). i trained for a marathon, succeeded, finished... yadda yadda. but in the process I actually GAINED weight. now, this is not all that uncommon but it still makes you feel a bit special when you burn 3000+ calories and still manage to put on the lbs and your clothes…

New food ideas?
Any new foods you have discovered lately? I am looking for some new ideas as I begin 30 days of clean eats... any input would be GREAT! Here are a few I know of already.... (see blog) http://raeannesisson.com/little-nuggets-that-make-me-smile/

1200 too few?
does anyone else find that MFP defaults to 1200 calories too easily? i have found that it is somewhat misleading and yes you will lose weight but this can cause extreme complications physiologically as well as just mentally feeling starved. MOST people need more than 1200 calories just to live and lay around all day. if…

Endurance vs. Fast Twitch
I have been reading a lot about the difference between endurance athletics and the "other" type which would include things like HIIT, Insanity, or sprinting. I LOVE Insanity but otherwise I am an endurance runner. I hate running repeats, or sprints, or fartleks.... and just prefer to run my pace. But the more I read, the…

BCAA
Has anyone tried or do you currently take Branch Chained Amino Acids? I am focusing now on leaning up, and building muscle... I have been reading "The New Rules of Lifting for Women" and "Metabolic Effect" and both mention amino acids and the importance of them. I was wondering if a supplement would be a good idea....…

Success story?
Hey guys! I would LOVE to share some of your stories with my friends who could use the support and encouragement. I have a personal blog where I share the ups and downs of weightloss & fitness.... it's NOT for "selling" anything, etc. but just to encourage others. I would love it if you would be willing to share your story…

Fear.
Sometimes fear gets in the way. Fear of failure, or success, fear of being noticed, or not being noticed.... and fear eats away at the very core of what we try to accomplish. Free yourself from your fear! Be empowered by your success, small or large, and look ahead at the dreams you will achieve!!! I must not fear. Fear is…

Dont quit.
When things go wrong, as they sometimes will, When the road you're trudging seems all uphill, When the funds are low and the debts are high, And you want to smile, but you have to sigh, When care is pressing you down a bit, Rest, if you must, but don't you quit. Life is queer with its twists and turns, As every one of us…

you gotta EAT.
okay... i am not an expert by any means. but IMHO the NUMBER ONE worst thing you can do for yourself, especially when you are starting out, is restrict your calories TOO MUCH. how many times do we see msgs here about "i am eating 1200 cals and i just can't lose..." etc. ? do a little research online and you will see that…
