I am doing Insanity, and have also done P90X, Jillian Michaels, TurboJam, and Power90 workouts and love them all! I actually just did a video today of my Insanity recovery workout... here's a link if you want to check it out: http://payfitforward.wordpress.com/my-insanity-journey/insanity-videos/ The Biggest Loser workouts…

shakeology really helps me curb my cravings.... i also do strawberries with sugar free chocolate syrup.
-
i believe the default is 15%, this is WAY TOO LOW if you want to build lean muscle.... adjust!
-
look to fruits and veggies that are lower in sugar... berries & green veggies are best... i also don't really eat bread myself, and the only real "oat" i eat is oatmeal.... keep experimenting and you will get there. you may want to do a google search to learn what percent you should eat of carbs/fat/protein... depends on…

i find that the default ratio for MFP protein/carb/fat is NOT what i prefer. i go in and reset my percentages so that i get about 30% protein. i think the default is about 15%.

GREAT question. i recommend rearranging to make it so you do arms every other day, etc. that is what i did when i did P90X because I was also running a lot and doing other classes. just make sure to get in the workouts etc. but don't overwork because that can have negative effects. also, make sure to eat enough and also…

the longer you eat healthy, the BIGGER effect a day "off" will make on your body. it's hard for your body to deal with excess salt, fat, sugar... when it's NOT used to that anymore. it's easy to gain 5 lbs of water. drink lots of water and after the next few days you will be back to normal. get right back on that horse.
-
just my two cents but i only count deliberate exercise to "eat back" on my cals. if it's something extra i count it... if it's part of my normal day, i do not.

it is impossible to "spot" lose fat. CARDIO CARDIO CARDIO will reduce body fat (ie. belly fat). also... avoid artificial sugars as they tend to cause belly bloat. lots of water too.... and stay away from simple carbs, increase protein. but otherwise, pure sweat.... for me... the belly is the FIRST to come back and the LAST…

you can read my full story on my wordpress blog. check out my profile for the link... i have lost over 100 lbs and am working to keep it of and perfect my "flab" :).

i once made a really good apple & cinnamon pork chop recipe that was surprisingly yummy! i just chopped up some green apples. i am sure that would work in the crock pot. pork chops tend to be very salty so i would say stick to a side with not too much sodium/salt.

i used to take lots of supplements but recently removed them one i started taking a product that had the "whole foods" version of most everything i was taking... there are much better ways to get those nutrients if you look at what's out there.

interesting. what types of tips are in the book?

nuts and peanut butter are great to add in to his day.... and i agree with the protein suggestion from above. also, instead of pam, for his meals use olive oil or coconut oil.
-
1200 is quite low and i wouldn't go lower... and i would recommend you eat back every exercise calorie... my two cents of course.

i love how they call cardio recovery, "recovery." LOL. squat city. the heart may be resting but that's about it!

i am on week four, it is CRAZY!!!

Decatur IL here.. smelly city. :)

I LOVE everything Chalene touches. She is AWESOME. Have you ever done turbokick live at the gym? That was what got me hooked... then I found out they were on DVD. WOW. What a GREAT burn and it is SO much fun!!!
-
taking breaks and changing it up definitely helps in all aspects of diet & exercise. BUT don't let that translate to "go crazy" for a week.... it is possible to do all kinds of damage if you ingest a lot of bad foods in a short amount of time. it sounds like you may have found something that works for you... so that's…
-
congrats! i LOVE running and also started out similar to you. :)
-
wow this sounds like a complete scam and waste of money. not sure i would put that into my body. lose weight with diet, healthy (real) tools, and exercise. sorry..... don't mean to be so negative but this is for life... not for a quick fix.
-
yep... water weight. :) i can easily gain 5 lbs overnight from eating too much salt or sugar... our bodies are amazing. :) BUT i'm sure some of that is true weight/fat.
-
weigh it in grams, and use the label to see how much one serving is. :) weigh it dry using a food scale.
-
health is a lifetime endeavor. therefore, no date is good enough... BUT you should set small goals that are measurable... like weight lost (in small increments) or sizes... or inches. i prefer weight... so i set a goal to lose 5 lbs. when that's done... celebrate and set a new goal. if you are taking way too long... like…

edorice gives good advice here! i agree 100%!

I have learned to go without... or to use skim milk.

it depends. do you want to be skinny or healthy? anyone can lose weight eating a ho ho a day. but if you are going for health, stick to clean eats and whole foods.
