just do it. the rest will fall into place. before you know it you will actually miss your workouts and get sick if you eat crappy food. :-) OH and start out small.... little changes, over time.... slow and steady wins the race!!

PS. just my two cents, but at 181, you MUST eat more. 1200 is WAYYYYY too few cals even if you eat back... that is such a low net your body is probably holding on to EVERYTHING. i am 145 and i net 1500 and still have losses....even with eating back cals. so, for what it's worth... i would say you could easily get by with…

it is SO hard, but we really need to remove the focus from the scale... ask yourself the following: 1. how do you feel? energetic? sluggish? 2. how do your clothes fit? 3. have you been spending time being active? 4. have you been eating nutritious foods? 5. are you getting stronger? 6. are you better than you are today…

define comfortable? and what kind of HRM do you use? in the meantime, here's my two cents... you are young, and not too heavy to push... so i say, go by your instinct and how you feel. if you can take a deep breath to the depths of your lungs and/or talk comfortable... then you are at a good pace. if you were just starting…

you will know if it becomes too much because you will feel very tired, very sore, or get sick... so just pay attention to your body. you might do cardio in AM and strength in PM so not to overtrain. i have personal experience with this exact issue and on my journey i learned the hard way about doing too much.... it's a…

all things in moderation my friend. :) and yes, it is made from hazelnuts so the nutritional makeup is similar... it does have some sugar, and skim milk... it's a nice change tho. there is a REALLY great brand that makes something similar and it's more natural. can't think of the name of it for the moment... but it's on…

nothing lost. every experience is meaningful on this journey... take notes, and move on! :-)

LOVE this response.

the simple answer is... no. BUT there are definitely different qualities out there. some of them are crap, and some are awesome. what will make a difference is the whole picture... calories in vs. calories out and qualities of those calories.

I have the same issue. BUT i see my skin as a blessing... and yes the exercise DOES help. i am 1 year into maintenance... and people don't see the skin like i do. my belly is something that will never go away... and again, i see it as a blessing... in fact, i did a video on this exact topic... perhaps that will explain it…

hi there! it is definitely NOT a good idea to lose that much actual weight that fast... but did you just get started? a lot of times at first you will lose water weight. are you getting enough cals? it's not good to net under 1200 calories... so if you eat 1600 and workout intensely and burn 500, you would actually "net"…

lots of places are becoming more calorie minded, and i like it too... but watch out, they are usually sodium laden.... and... i would rather go for a huge salad because i can pretty much get that anywhere.... priorities. :) but i 100% think that they are moving in the right direction!!

wow bananas have a bad rap!!! i eat one (or more) per day.... and i poop like a champ. i will add that exercise (cardio) REALLY helps. running has been a blessing in the poop dept. LOL
-
one of my favorite topics! LOL. here are a few things i have learned along the way on this topic.... 1. the more water you drink, the better you will poo 2. you MUST get enough fat in order to poo 3. if u up your fiber, up your water... 4. i have heard that it is ideal to poo once daily, and AMAZING if after each meal…

no worries! you will look and feel GREAT!!!

hey there! i am also training for a full (my first) which is the STL RNR... and I am doing my third half in November. :-) my best half was 2:05... so I am pretty proud of that. i have NO clue what to expect for my full... just want to set a baseline. :)
-
so... i have this exact sentiment but i am on the "other" side and i can honestly say that my support group has actually INCREASED now that i am at maintenance. it's my goal to share my story and to help others do what i have done. so that naturally helps me stay focused.... i will say this, though, i did lose one…

ok, so i have tried them ALL. :-) except this one.... and i seriously eyeballed it yesterday.... LOL so it's timely that you asked this. opinions are like belly buttons, but here is my two cents: 1. look at cholesterol content, lower quality whey has higher cholesterol (do some comparison shopping on this one) Look at…

100% LOVE what I do... i am a math teacher, and more recently i have started a career in mentoring & motivating in health/fitness.... and my teaching passion transfers very nicely!!!! :-) GREAT topic.

opinions are like belly buttons.... :-) look into the hard science on this, do a google search, read up on it.... from what i have read, cutting your net too low does some pretty serious damage to your metabolism. yes, your weightloss may be constant and you may really love what's happening.... but once you get there you…

I refuse to completely give up anything. All things in moderation......works for LIFE. BUT there are things I choose not to consume simply because of the consequences that follow. Otherwise, I pretty much allow myself anything in moderation. :)

congratulations! hard work and dedication pays off!!! welcome to MFP we are pretty awesome. :-)

CONGRATS! revel in that moment... you deserve it. :)

i take digestive enzymes in my shakeology every morning... i have found that it really helps keep things more "regular." and i don't eat bread usually.... but i do have oatmeal everyday. i keep my fiber pretty high too. i do not consume dairy regularly either.... i agree with the others, may be gluten... but with all food…

LOL. seriously. wow. thanks for sharing. totally parallels my day today and how i simply have eaten something every single flippin hour! :-)
-
i always workout early morning so it's straight to my breakfast of shakeology and oatmeal. YUM.
