  • Try cooking your food rather than buying pre-packaged foodstuffs - which isn't Food. You aren't feeding your body so it's thinking that it needs to store up the calories (empty ones) that you are giving to it in case it starves. You can't lose weight on that kind of diet. Here's a week of meals that will put protein and…

  • I love cabbage. Did you know that if you let it ferment (kraut) it becomes a superfood? So I'm making my first batch of sauerkraut. Here's how: Wash and dry cabbage, shred it, adding salt to taste. Place in large jar or crock with lid. Cover the cabbage with piece of cheesecloth (I didn't have any so used a clean…
  • Hello everyone. 56 and single. Gained over 30 lbs in a short time. I quit smoking in November, menopause kicked in last month, and I am on hyperthyroid meds (to lower my metabolism). Ive been a size 2 most of my life (probably because my thyroid gland worked overtime) and suddenly I became a size 10. I lost my job in…

I'm single (since 1988) so the cigarette money came right off the top of my unemployment check. I have a mortgage, car payment,…

  • I'm 56. Dealing with menopause (started this month), a thyroid disease, and I quit smoking in November. I blew up in a matter of a few months. So far, dieting and exercise aren't doing anything. • You can add me. I am a daily logger since I started (only 5 days ago) and always look to the community for support, encouragement, ideas, humor, etc. Janine
  • 3 sets of how many?
  • 2 miles per day is 56 miles. You can skip one day per week if you walk, run, jog 2.5 miles instead of 2 miles any 4 days of the 24 you exercise. So 20 days, 2 miles per day and 4 days 2.5 miles per day.
