  • Someone on my feed has duplicated a workout about 25 times yesterday. Maybe a MFP bug?
  • My hip flexor were tight because they were weak. The more I stretch the more that becomes apparent. I have good passive rom at the hip but I can't actively flex the knee up past 90degrees. I have been doing weighted step ups, marching, mountain climbers, resisted mountain climbers? Lunges and I'm not sure what the name is…
  • When I couldn't squat anymore I was diagnosed with tight piriformus so I worked on stretches for that and did squats with my heels elevated. Then I developed pain in the side of my hips which was bursitis from weak glute meads (which the tight piriformus had been masking) so then I had more stretches plus a physio program…
  • Have you had other tattoos? People heal differently. My first tattoo got ruined because it didnt heal properly. When I had my second done I used cling film on it for 3 weeks to make sure it healed properly.
  • If you like running, try doing some sprint training. I do this once or twice a week as part of my bigger workouts, running 30s on/ 30s off at a faster pace than I can sustain for a longer run. I started off doing 6 and have built up to doing 10. Also using the incline function really increases intensity. I do lifting,…
  • I gave up trying to find an entry that included it. Even scanning the bar code on my bananas didn't bring it up!
  • Current goals Run 5k (currently at 4.7k) Run 10k Do a beginner's triathlon Squat 100k (currently at 65k) Do press ups off the floor (currently on bar 5" off the ground) Do burpees off the floor (currently on 12" box) Do a pull up Be able to jump onto a box ( haven't started jumping yet)
  • I love these as well! I am relatively new to running -started 1st jan. I am doing x7 30s sprints at about 8.5mph (started at 6) one day a week, a long run one day a week and gym 4 days a week. When I say long run the furthest I've managed without walking is 4.7k but I have done 7k alternating walk and running. I am about…
  • I am the same. I gave up eating chocolate for about 3 months then i was able to just eat it a couple of times a week. Over a year i gradually got back to eating about 2 chocolate bars a day so i have just given up chocolate for march again. I seem to only be able to control by total cutting out or avoidance
  • I like my marks and sparks ones the best. They have a zip pocket at the back and a draw string on the waist. They have washed really well.
  • What janejellyroll said. There are medical conditions which cause weight loss that need ruling out. There is a good thread somewhere on calorie dense foods
  • Mine is definately emotionally based. The funny thing is I don't even know it at the time. It's only afterward I realise. I have been trying to learn to recognise it straight away so I can find a healthier way to deal with my problems. Rejection has turned out to be a massive trigger (I have been dating recently)
  • I really like my personal trainer but I have had some before that just didn't work for me. I wouldn't expect to be given a new program mid month when I was only paying for one off sessions though. The only time I have had that is when I had bought a block sessions. My trainer now does me them whenever I want but I have…
  • I did a charity thing in January where I ran everyday. I used the cross trainer to "run through" shin splints for 3 days. New trainers made a massive difference but so did having 3 days rest at the end of the month! I am aiming to run 5k but I'm just running twice a week now as part of my 4 workouts. I use a massage ball…
  • I think you are mixing up terms. Polygamy is the practice of loving more than one person at a time and can apply to someone who is faithful to more than one person. So basically it's monogamy multiplied. I think you mean are we going to give up on relationships in the future. I don't think that will ever happen as most…
  • I buy frozen avocados and use them in smoothies or recipes but I don't think they taste as nice as a fresh ones. I read that they don't freeze well at home, they are able to do it commercially because they can super freeze them really quick.
  • The only problem I have is that I loose count of reps because I don't concentrate as well. On those days I tend to do more timed things now (tabata style) using a free app on my phone or do 5 mins each on the rower, ski machine and cycle 10k with progressive resistance or something so it's not as important I concentrate. I…
  • When I started my journey I was suffering terrible fatigue. Two things helped me, drinking more water because I was actually dehydrated and cutting down sugar because I was on a sugar drop.
  • I hope you had a good session. My advice would be to be open minded about your goals. Through my personal trainer I have discovered so many things I didn't know I could do or hadn't even though about so my goals change all the time. I had one to push 100kg on a sled, and one to cycle 10k, now I am working on being able to…
  • Last night I was eating celery with low fat cream cheese and raisins as a late night tea lol. Are you drinking enough? Do you need to swap to more low calorie high volume food so you feel fuller? You could try a milky drink at night. A hot chocolate made with skimmed milk works for me if I've had my tea early.
  • Seated battle ropes? Get a PT? (Best thing I ever did)
  • I went to see Only the Brave at the cinema and I cried. True stories always make me extra sad even though I already know the ending.
  • Being pregnant is a fabulous reason to start eating more healthily. The reason most people gain weight in pregnancy is that they 'eat for 2' when you don't actually need all that much more (I think its something like 10%). As has been said, go see you dr to make sure what you do is safe and right for you. I have a friend…
  • What's a grind fam? I log daily. I lift but I don't log exercise daily, I included it in the calorie calculation already.
  • Usually I am looking at some of the really fit people doing something and thinking I wish I could do that. Or I am counting. Always counting. Also I couldn't crunch today because I was holding a fart in. I wondered if my pt could somehow secretly tell that was why.
  • If you have switched to fat free, go back to full fat for milk, cheese etc. Avocado's, nuts and seeds are great 'healthy' calorie dense foods. I keep both full fat and fat free versions of things in the fridge so I can match to my calorie needs each day. I have the exact same problem in that when I cut out junk I don't get…
  • I have a trainer but x1 week is fine for me. I can have a program to follow in the week but it has done me good to start practicing thinking up my own routines. I can't imagine I would be able to carry on the training long term. It has been over a year already. When I had less money I would only review a program with a…
  • I had a lot of problems with fatigue when I first started. I found the main causes were dehydration, lack of quality sleep and too much sugar in my calories (believe it or not I only eat about 1/2 of what I use to). When you have a cap on calories and you eat a lot of sugar, there isn't enough good nutrition going in to…
  • I have less pain, less problems with my IBS and less sleep apnea/snoring
