UNREAL! You look 10 years younger now, so you've earned back 10 of those 27 years in my book!

I love reading these! I hope this conversation never ends! I finally ran a full marathon (Grandma's). So now my secret goal is to look and FEEL hot on a dance floor in my cowgirls duds again.....and to look non offensive in my English breeches at horse shows :noway:

I take this back. The Nuva Ring did not fit me well and frankly became too painful, at all times. I now have Implanon implanted in my arm. It works GREAT from a BC standpoint, but I have noticed I have a lot more acne, and I've gained a lot of weight since getting it. I'm hoping that the gain is from stress and stress…

Everything hurt! And I hated going out at all because it meant squeezing into something that was too smaller, or wearing a size I was ashamed of...or both. Going out also meant being the chubby girl nobody wanted to dance with, or near.... My weight has been creeping back up since my back injury post-marathon, so I keep…

I just got both for $10 at Target. 30DS is the only one I've tried so far, but it's not that hard, but I'm used to P90X, which takes FOREVER :0)

Thanks everyone! Keep the stories coming :)

THIS is why I started this thread, and I'm glad to see it active again. Now I feel more comfortable saying that I also carry while running. S&W .38, with a Pistolwear holster. For the man that asked, they are nice, I use the belly style. But I have a bad back, and strapping it across my lower back can get annoying. I'd…

That is GREAT info, and I'm glad it touches on the whole fact that not all "sea salts" are created equally!

A mailman here actually carries treats, he said it works better than any sort of defensive thing he's tried! :drinker:

YEP. My Dad is a veterinarian who works with Large and small animals...I help out often, and he and I would both rather work with a farmer and his very large bull, who's treated like a bull, than some crazy lady with the dog she's raised (and Good GOD dressed!) like a child! ...and before anyone gets pissy with me, I am an…

Good advice, that has worked best for me too in most cases. There is one large mixed breed dog on my long run route that almost bit my training partner even after following the above advice. For him I went to D*ck's Sporting Goods and bought some dog mace. I also have a permit to carry but at this point I think that would…

I'm a distance runner, I hate swimming in a pool, and biking makes my knees hurt worse, so I ice and use a brace. Mueller makes a great one that puts pressure around the edges of your knee cap that really helps with runner's knee.

:flowerforyou: bumpin for later

Another MN girl here! The wet cold weather stinks, but I'll take it over the tornadoes the poor people down South have had!
-
yep, side stitch, it's from your diaphragm cramping up. Take BIG slow breaths in and out, and stretch that arm over your head (you should be able to do this while continuing to run) ....I've also heard exhaling while your left foot hits the ground also helps. It stretches out your diaphragm

This is what I was going to say...my running partner has to replace her batteries every two weeks because she never removes the transmitter from her strap. I've never had to replace mine because I separate them after every run. Good luck!

Running IS such a head game! When I'm running inside I watch Encore Westerns ;) ...when I'm outside, and it's snowing and blowing, and I'm in the middle of a 20 mile run, I think about all the people that would give anything to be able to run 20 feet, let alone 20 miles....THAT'S what keeps me going :flowerforyou: You can…

I'm a much lighter, and much NICER person since changing from Yasmin to Nuva ring. Sometimes it feels like it drops the pH a little too much "down there", but it's still nice just having the hormones in one spot rather than throughout my whole body. My Dr said it's basically a topical method, so it's also safer when you…

Not if you're very type A and need everything to be EXACTLY accurate ...I speak from my own OCD experience

I'm training for a marathon and have to eat a ton of carbs (which people seem to look down on) so I stopped logging all my meals. I keep track, but I don't put it on here for now. Plus, everyday is about the same for me anyway. I do still log all my runs though. Try taking a break for awhile and see what the scale does....

Ok, I'm drinking the koolaid on this one, my feet were FAST tonight with the Rocktape on...first time in forever they haven't gone numb on me ;)
-
Ezrida does have some great info, his taping has actually got me this far with the PF. I've been doing it since the beginning of the year and it's made it go away by about 95% (as long as I still use my custom orthotics). I just thought the Rocktape sounded cool, so I went to running room and got some. I put it on this…

amazing lady :drinker:

45 seconds each side, 1 minute "normal", repeat.
-
Yep, good advice. I'm a pro at taping, as I've spent a lot of years in Sports Med being taped. I did double check about a month ago to make sure I'm still doing it right. I've been using a lot of "normal" athletic tapes, but I've never tried this kind of stuff....really tempted! PS: I had to be taped for shin splints in…

Can I join your club? :flowerforyou:

I start out breathing slow and BIG in the nose, and slow out the mouth, if I get tired I change to just mouth.... When I really start dragging I think about filling my lungs with as much energy (air) as I can, that slows the process down I think, and I really do get a burst of energy from it.

I hope the poor wife is on MFP, she deserves to know she married trash.

Where do you get those magic salt tabs? And you're right, I did actually start feeling "somthing" at mile 10, but the cramping (way worse than any TOM!) started during the cooldown.

watching this with you! :flowerforyou:
